Default ORSCA Outlaw Street Racing Body

Our local eighth mile track hosted an ORSCA event this past weekend. Classes were Outlaw Street (10.5"), EZ Street, Limited Street. Headsup 6.0 and 7.0. Lots of baaad cars there. Outlaws were running mid to hi 4's @160, EZ's were in the mid to hi 5 range and Limited's were running hi 4's to low 5's. The reason I'm even posting this is because about 60% of the cars were Mustangs. I think there were maybe two C4 Vettes. There was a blown 60's Rambler that was kickin' --- and taking names. Anyway, are Mustangs that much better suited to that type of racing than other makes? Is it cost, parts availability, weight, all the above or what?

cost and parts availability. The shop that is doing my engine does about 75% mustangs because that is what people can do cheaply. they are the Camaro's and Nova's of today.
