Default Kevlar Clutch disc, pros and cons.

Those of you that have tried a Kevlar clutch disc, would you recommend it for street and strip? This is for the car in the sig. Aluminum flywheel, and I shift at 7K.

I have a McLeod Kevlar disc in my 12 second 1972 LT-1. I run 1.5-1.6 60ft times with M/T E.T. streets (slicks.) I use a Centerforce II pressure plate with the McLeod disc, and have 3-4 years of service (10K miles) of street/drags/autocross useage from this set-up now but, I think it is close to the time for a new clutch. My car weighs 3400lbs and runs 4.56 gears with a light 14# L88 flywheel. Best 1/4 mile time: 12.28@117MPH at Vette Magic 2002.

Thanks, it doesn't sound like the Kevlar is very long wearing. I've gotten just about the same amount of usage from a stock disc, doing similar things.

BTW, that's a quick old Shark (looks good too). We would be a pretty good heads up race.

Best time: 12.06@117mph. 1.74 60ft.

I'll bet you spank quite a few C5's too.
