Default A4 2001 coupe with 3.15 rear goin to track Tuesday. Any advice/predictions?

Well Tuesday Bristol will start the street fights so weather permitting I plan on takin my 01 coupe out to see if I got my moneys worth. I have only had the car about 6 weeks. The car is bone stock, but as the topic states it's an A4 with G92 perf. axle and 38K on the clock. Bristol is a bit of a slow track so I am hoping for a 13.9 or better. The car has continetal tires instead of the stock run flats. Any advice on launching the car? I plan on turning the traction/active handling off, and after staging hold the brake and bring up the RPMs to around 1500 or so making sure the car doesn't start to power brake or roll forward to unstage and when the light changes just floor it and hope for good traction. I would like to make about 3 passes to get an idea of my base times before I install a vararam. Any advice is appreciated thanks!

Only thing to add is drop your rear pressure a little, maybe 21 or so and have fun and report back with your success.

"street fight" is a weird name for a class

I agree with Edgar, drop the pressure to 21 in the rear and pump the fronts to 40. turn off AH/TC. I recommend avoiding the water box if you can and doing a small quick dust em' off burnout and then dont power brake it just launch off idle. my guess 13.7 and as Mackey said have fun and keep us posted

That launch technique should work well. That's the same way I launch my 92 A4, and recently I've averaged 1.92 60 foot times on street tires. You may be pleasantly surprsed at what your car can do. By far the most important advice I can give you is to have fun!

Well I had plenty of fun!! I went with a goal of 13.9. My first run was 14.0 @99
then I told the fiance to get out of the car to save some weight haha. that got me to 13.9 @100!! Then I made one more run and managed a 60' of 2.207 and finished with a 13.846@100.76mph. So I am plenty happy!!

you should be able to get your 60 to 2.0x I do that consistently on my runflats at 23 psi. also your MPH seems low, how was the weather that day ? Did you try launching off idle, I had better results doing that, launching at 1500 for a stock car didn't work well for me.

The weather was about 80 degrees and very humid out. I am also told that the elevation at Bristol adds a couple of tenths. My first run was a launch from idle and I ran a 14.0 @99, but I did have a passenger that time. The next run was a 13.9, and then I made my last run with a 13.8. On the last 2 runs I power braked up to around 1200 RPM then launched. When I left from idle the car didn't feel strong off the line, BUT I had a better 60' time at 2.1.

glad you had fun, now strap on the vararam and let it eat some cool air. good luck next time, maybe you can hit 13.50's. work on that 60 ft. time.
