Default I QUIT!!!! A Dismal Race Report!!

Done Sunday racing for this year. Cannot buy a first round win. Despite cutting great lights and running great numbers (never both in the same race) today I made yet another stupid donation to the Sunday drivers. I today some jack butt with his A/C in front of me in an 18 second Marauder drops water on the line. Our line man proceeds to spread it around for me. I proceed to dance in it while my opponent cuts a paultry light against me. Another round I should have won.

I am going back to sleeping late on Sundays

I am done. Too far back in the points to now.

Don't *I* know that feeling. Three weeks of racing and three different vehicles, for me. Believe it or not but the 20 second 4X4, the 15 second 1/2 ton, and the Corvette all need to be staged differently.

I red lit to a "duck", Friday night. My first time out in the Corvette, this year. He had a 0.264 light. After the race, I found out he changed his dial in, in the staging lanes...From a 15.50 to a 14.50!!! He ran a 15.58, so the original dial was close. I crossed 1.4927 ahead. A full, second and a half. I could have waited and watched that sucker turn three shades of green before I left and still had a big margin. DUMB!!!

RACE ON!!!

Tsk..Tsk..Tsk...we'll have none of this...remember "a bad day at the track is better than a great day at work"...luck moves around...next race you could win a bunch of rounds and not even be on your game...it will come back around your way...

Edgar, it all part of the learning process, If I were in your position I'd still race every Sunday, It's the only way you're ever going to get better. Little things like what happen today happen all the time. The good racers overcome that, Do you think Biondo would have staged on that starting line. I think not. The only awy to get better is seat time.

Ironic, seeing this thread tonight (9 May)...
I ran into an old racing-buddy last night, and we compared our ' Inventing-Ways-to-Lose ' theories from years past.
He beat me with his rendition of:
"The shifter-knob came-off going into 2nd gear (12-second '68 Cougar), and it (shifter-knob) hit the toggle-switch for the fuel-pump, leaving me dead-in-the-water after a 5-oh light..."

Once heard of a 320-lb racer leave the line, wheels-up in a '70 442, only to have his girth break the welds at the front of the seat-mount;
he kept leaning-back until his foot came off the gas-pedal, with only his hands on the wheel, and his wheels-up launch was aborted!
When came forward in the seat, his foot matted the skinny, and he went wheels-up again, until his foot again came-off the accelerator pedal, etc., etc., etc...

Once saw a guy, riding his 70cc pit-bike (after breaking his real race-bike) in 'Motorcycle Class' against a really fast bike:
he had the bike come 'out' from under him on the launch, but re-mounted his mini-bike, and won that round when his opponent fouled.

Regar,

It could be worse. You could be like me and have to drive 3+ hours to get to the nearest track. Only to have the above happen.

I would not have staged if it were me and points would have been on the line. Mak'em clear the track.

REDGAR,
Some old coach once said...
"The difference between a winner and a loser is that the winner picks himself up one more time than the loser"

Hey, we all have bad streaks. Stop the whining. Get back in that car!
You think you can't win the championship so why try?
What's that all about? Pull your self together man!
Think of those poor F1 guys. They still try, and they don't have a chance on the championship either!
