Default A simple Yes or No... re: 0-60 time

Who believes this.. a simple YES or No will suffice.. Although comments are welcome...

Someone said his street driven Vette (alleged 1/4 time 11.17 @ 122)

did the following......

QUOTE
________________________________________ __________________
my best 0-60 was 2.87 with vector's version of a g-tech. went to drags and was within hundred of a second!!! best 1/4 was 11.17 @122mph

yes, it is possible if you can cut a 60ft in 1.6.

you only answer the question that you want to. my porsche goes to 0 to 60 in 3.7
if you do search in the tech section youll see a tread about gt40 going 0 to 60 in 3.2 and i beat you if it had nittos or bfg drags it'll go considerable faster
yes or no
i guess you think iam full of crap when i said my car trapped 122mph. its not that big of a deal! there are tons of c5 guys trappin that fast.

gm claims that they have seen sub 4 second 0 to 60 on the zo6, so you act as if i have a rocket on the back of my car. you dont even know me and your calling me a liar. i can't help it that you drive a sled!!!!!

Yes, that et + mph = good 60. Probably in the 1.5-1.6 range. Although I dont put much stock in what G-Tech has to say...

Anyone have access to a radar gun? I drove a mustang (no flames please) that ran 10 flat with a 1.400 60' time.Felt like 2 sec. 0-60. Would be real curious to know some real times from real street cars. The radar gun and a stop watch would tell alot. Mid america had them for sale once. I wonder if anyone bought one?

I did a little research: The Vector has a default rollout setting of 12 inches. I am pretty sure the Gtech has no rollout setting (in other words, zero). You all know what this means, right? The 0-60 timer does not start until the car travels 12". Obviously this will generate a lower 0-60 time than a zero rollout setting. Exactly how much lower, I dont know - figure it out! BTW, Chevy used a rollout adjustment to produce sub 4 sec 0 -60 times with the ZO6. MJ

Nick,

Where did you get this table from? Based the table I have a 3.4 second 0-60 vette.

I have this crazy 5th order polynomial equation that estimates 0-60 MPH time based on 1/4 mile data. Using my Mustang as a test case, the formula predicts that car does 0-60 in 3.1 seconds (using test data of 11.30 @ 119 w/ a 1.606 short time).

So for a car that runs 11.17 @ 122 I find his claims believable that he could go 0 to 60 in 2.87 seconds. To run an 11.17 @ 122 the guy must of had a very good 60 foot resulting in a quick 0 to 60 time.

The 11.17 @ 122 mph would have been a 3.1x 0-60 mph with zero rollout.

But if you give yourself a 12" rollout, you would take off approxmiately .28 seconds off this, thus he would be around that 2.7 to 2.8.

I'm confident in my program that calculates these #'s.

I can give anybodys 0-60 mph times for them based upon their timeslips and a couple of other variables.

cheers,
Beach Bum

Jpee.... I couldn't give you a simple yes or no answer on anything, g, but what was stated is totally possible. Heck...even my Impala has done 3.97 0-60 with a 5th wheel attached

The only part that i cant figure out is what "drags" will give you 0-60 M.P.H. on a time slip...never saw that at a dragstrip before

Here is a 0 to 60 MPH calculator based on 1/8th mile times/ mph.
http://www.teamnabr.com/modules.php?...showpage&pid=8
I tried it with my 1/8 mile times/ mph (6.268 @ 114.35 mph) but it seemed very optimistic.

That calculator is pretty cool. says 0to 60 in .68sec. Iknow I run zero to 100 in 2.1 and eighth in 4.6 at 155.Never knew zero to 60 but I knew it happened as fast as you are pushing on the throttle.I run a 1.06 sixty foot on a good pass.
