Re: Get thee to an L.E.D. tree.....NOW!!!! (REDGAR)
It's probably just all the heat, down there. You need to be back up in the "frozen North" and wait a couple of more months, like the rest of us "snow belters" Have fun, and...
Re: Get thee to an L.E.D. tree.....NOW!!!! (REDGAR)
I don't normally get to watch a lot when I'm racing but with my car in the shop I can tell you everyone had bad lights today!...a few folks had the odd good light but I only saw one racer, My95, cut back to back .033 and .044 lights... I struggle with the LED's too...I have to practice in Orlando with incandescents then race in Bradenton with LED's...not good..
Re: Get thee to an L.E.D. tree.....NOW!!!! (CFI-EFI)
No it was not the heat. I raced the night before at a different Florida track and they still had the incandesant bulbs and all 4 of my competition RT's were in the 5s

LUKE..... Trust the F O R C E Luke...
The Pros claim that there is only .003 difference in the trees.
However.. You don't have the last bulb slowly going out while the next bulb comes on! You may have to compensate by changing your staging distance.
Some guys that used to just flicker the bulb may have to stage a little deeper. :cuss

John Panuzzo educated me recently to what the differences we're between the two(incandescent vs L.E.D.)
I guess it can make a big difference in R/T and adjusting. I'll have to check it out when the track opens.
Jay it will be very easy to compare the two. At E town the bulbs facing the drivers will be LED but the bulbs on the side facing to stands will still be incandescent.. so you can stand behind the cars on the line & then just walk to the side line & see the difference... I KNOW I'm gonna.. take a peek before I run..
However on a .4 Pro Tree I'll still RULE !! :D Even at my "advanced" age! You can take that to the bank... ;)
