I'm not sure if he was stock or not. Went up against him a 2nd time and he ran a 12.8.
Anyways, was my run good? Just headers and exhaust w/ 3/4 tank of gas (93 octane) and it's an A4 on stock runflats. It was about 40 degrees outside and 75 humidity. Track elevation is 1295'
damn right that's a good time, but get your self some kind of air induction, vararam or vortex and go back and kick that fords azzz, or i will drive out and get him for ya.  ps do you have 2.73's or 3.15's
Re: 12.91 almost stock.. is this good? (MC TORCH RED)
That is Great. I seemed to have a freak of a car and the 2nd time at teh track, I ran a 12.57 at 111 MPH with just a a Vortex, Powerloader II (programming ), and Corsa Indy Exhaust on EMT Tires.

MC to the Rescue!

Re: 12.91 almost stock.. is this good? (2001 Red Coupe Bandit)
12.5? wow! :) pretty cool.
I have the 3.15 gears. I'm not sure if I want to do an intake as I'd be taking that off in a few years anyways for when I do the big buildup (not exactly sure what yet.. but something crazy and big like a 427TT). The exhaust I can keep but I may do a 3.42 rearend, reinforce the tranny, and put a nice torque converter in :)
That is a great time... The last article I read put a stock 2003 A4 Conver w/3.15 at a 13.4 sec 1/4mile. The Cobra is probably modified, in stock trim a 6-speed corvette and the Cobra should run about the same time....

Re: 12.91 almost stock.. is this good? (chaase)
Yeah.. I ran 13.5s stock with a 2.1 60' time. Since I put the exhaust on I started running 2.0 and 1.9 60s fairly consistently depending upon the weather (1.9s all last night, the month before all 2.0s).
I'm thinking the Cobra may have had an adjustable boost on it or at a minimum an exhaust because it was fairly loud.. I got an in car video going up against it yesterday so maybe I'll post it later. Either way no sweat off my back. At the end of the day I'm the one with the corvette. :D
You should do the air intake anyway. A blackwing is pretty cheap (about $200.0) and it will complement the Headers. I plan on doing the blackwing and some other things next year (I cannot drag the car yet..need a hard top or rollbar)

Re: 12.91 almost stock.. is this good? (chaase)
Zip tie mod will compliment the headers within about 1HP difference than the blackwing for about $.03 on our '03s. I've read several reviews of the blackwing on the '03s and it does very little increase. I'm not sure exactly what is different about the 03's but doing the zip tie mod/drilling a few holes will result in almost the exact same thing.
I just don't want to throw away any more money. I already am realizing that these FLP headers were a bad purchase and will be thrown out by the time I get to the buildup. After 1 month I've already noticed rust accumulating on them. Absolutely pathetic. Don't buy these headers.
Interesting, maybe just going to a Z06 style air box and a K&N Filter would be better. (They only have a cost of about $100 including the filter and a more polished look). Where did you see the reviews? I would be interested in reading them
I will take note about the headers...That was on the list also..
Anyone else hear about the performance gains or non-gains on a blackwinged 2003

Re: 12.91 almost stock.. is this good? (chaase)
I've just read posts over the past year about it. No actual dyno numbers to prove it but SOTP difference it was mentioned to be very miniscule for the '03.
Before next week I'm going to try to figure out the zip tie mod (I saw the posts but still have no clue what everyone is talking about doing exactly.. I need pictures. haha, and/or drilling) to see if it increases my ET.
I have seen the zip tie mod posts too and am confused.
You can try jmx, he runs the ls1howto website, which is very informative, it doesn't have that particular mod. He may be able to help though.. and possibly post good instructions for anyone else looking to do the mode

Re: 12.91 almost stock.. is this good? (EB20003)
Keystone.. and thanks for the link on the zip tie mod! I will have to look into this further and think more about it. I didn't realize the paper filter ended up being wide open like that. I can just imagine the hydrolock (if I ever get caught in the rain.. which has happened a few times :( )
As for the Cobra, he probably had exhaust but that is about it. The times and MPH he ran is pretty close to what those cars run bone stock. Sad thing is he can add $1.5k in mods and have over 450rwhp :(
I agree with the other, get some kind of intake going, get some tuning with and without cats, and play with your shift points soon you'll be trappin like some of the freak cars on here. I'm gettin close I think ;)
