EFCC on Sunday??

I just checked out the flier for the re-scheduled Corvette Challenge.. and it says that the Corvette Challenge will be on Sunday... I thought that it was re-scheduled for Saturday :confused: :confused:

Does anybody know?

I can see where you might get confused...the Sunday Corvette Challenge is NOT the Ecklers Florida Corvette Challenge..it is the vette's only portion of the Gulf Coast Chevy Shootout...we are still making up last weeks EFCC rainout on Saturday morning...I'm staying over and running in both... :D ...btw, fwiw the forecast looks great at this point for the whole weekend... partly sunny Saturday and mostly sunny Sunday.. :hurray:

I wonder what time the Vette shootout will start on Sunday??? I have to be at Miami International at 9 PM.. which means that I have to leave Bradenton by 5 PM...

The flier says 1st round of brackets start at Noon on Sunday...that would be my guess.. :thumbs:

I wonder when they'll finish... I have to be out of there by 5 PM...

We'll probably go 4-5 rounds in our portion...you can always leave if it gets to 5 pm.. :p: ..there is really no way to tell since there will be other bracket and heads up racing going on as well...remember, if you're still in it at 5 pm you've made your money back.. :thumbs:

I still haven't decided if I'll stay until Sunday or drive back on Saturday...

You should be safe Oliver! Marc, you will need to save a few of the flyers for your scrap book!! I am confirming gate open time for Sat, Sun appears to be 9, but I thought Sat was going to be 8 due to our rainout. I will post as soon as I have confirmation! :cheers: All remember, Sunday is a $ race!! (And should be some media coverage I imagine.)

Will we be able to leave our trailer's and cars at the track Saturday night? I could go home with my "crew" and not worry about load/unload, etc.. Is it safe?
Also.........where can I get some fliers?

Gates will open at 9 on BOTH days. Sat schedule is gates at 9, qual runs at 10, eliminations at 12. Should be time for T&T runs in lanes 1&2 between qual runs for those that want. (as long as they have room & are doing it...they may not be.)

We will be staging in the North East corner on the pavement where we used to....where we were last Sat was crowded for the lanes. Make sure we do NOT block the path through to the West side. :cheers:

If we want to race in both events, what are the fees? I noticed an entry fee for two days.........cheaper that way. :steering:

Corvette challenge normal $20 tech, Sunday vette race is $20, and the rest woul;d be better buying 2 days I guess.

Trailer is no problem to leave on the grounds...We will be there with our rig late Friday night so if need be you can park it next to us & use any tools, etc. :cheers:

OK guys...I'm calling you all out to run both days in the Gulf Coast Chevy Shootout !!!!...You absolutely need to be there Sunday since they gave us our own division to run in but Saturday is important too... this is a once a year event so no excuses...take the damn day off from work....buy the Mrs. flowers..whatever !...if you're coming from a distance and can't afford a motel, find a friend to stay with or commute....if you're concerned about how good the competition will be I've got two things to tell you...first, you never know what will happen in bracket racing..there are red lights, break out's, missed shifts, tire spins and even break downs by opponents....secondly, you will improve your skills with practice but you will really get better with competition...a lot of you guys are really good bracket racers and you need to get off your butts and get in the mix !!...I've only been racing since the Challenge started last August and if I am entering you should be too.. :reddevil ...sorry for the rant but we need to enter this event and represent...remember, you can't win the $400 either day if you're at home weeding the flower beds and watching PBS...
