Default Weight difference BFG Drag Radials vs. M/T ET Streets...

Does anybody have the weight specs for both of those tires in similar sizes??

For example

BFG Drag Radials 275/60R15

and ET Streets 28 x 11.5-15

Does anybody know???

Olivier:
A more even comparison would be a 275/60/15 BF Goodrich Drag Radial vs. a 28x12.50x15 Mickey Thompson ET Street. Both of these tires have the same tread patch.

Are we thinking about running ET Streets now? :D

If so, trust me you'll love them....I have never spun coming out of the whole with mine.

*EDIT*
I have a spare bare rally rim laying around. What I can do is pull the rally rim that has the ET Streets mounted on it and weigh it. I can then weigh the bare rally rim and subtract the two. I run 28x11.5x15s. I really think that you'll find the weight difference to be very little.

That would be cool!!!! I think that the ET Streets should be a lot lighter than the Drag Radials.... and yes - I'm thinking in using ET streets..
That's not because of better traction.. it's because of lower weight.. Wheels are centrifugal weight and worth 4 - 5 times the weight savings...

With a 1.80's 60' time - I'm sure that he isn't spinning.. I'm using much less stickier Drag Radials and had already a 1.591 60" time and didn't spin...

Aaron:
I don't even need to heat the ET Streets up much now (usually about 5 seconds in the burnout box does the trick. I just let the clutch out, jump on the brakes and start heating them up. Coming out of the hole I am certain that wheel spin is VERY minute if any. 1st to 2nd never spins tire anymore, neither does 2nd to 3rd.

Even on the street these tire spin very little coming out of the hole with no burnout preperation.

Olivier:
You'll love the ET Streets. I can't imagine there being much of a weight difference....but traction will be a lot better. I thought you weren't going to run them for fear of busting the rear end? I'm hoping my rear end will make it through this season. Then I'm going to save and purchase a Tom's 12 bolt this winter.

Actually the 28x11.5 ET Street & 275-60 Drag Radial are VERY close in actual size...almost exactly the same when mounted. The 28x12.5 ET Street is close to a 325-50 Drag Radial. I have all 4 of these tires about 15' away from me right now :)

I dont have the exact weight if them all but the ET streets are about 1/2 the weight of D/R .... but don't get too concerned about actual tire weights with these. Even though the ET Streets are lighter you will run a little slower with them due to the type of sidewall construction... not much just a little but the car will be more consistant.

Oliver I wouldn't think the tires weight difference would be substantial. Your weight reduction is in switching from that 1/2 ton 18" wheel to a 16"

Well - it's not for my 98'.. it's for my 68'.. I already have extremely light rims (Centerline Auto Drag)...
