E Town Results...
Ok here is a very short review of today at E Town
In the Pro Dial class they set the qualifying ladder by best light ....500 Pro Tree
I Qual. # 1 with a .517 my other time shot lights were .525 &.535 Sounds great so far....
There was an Odd # of cars, so I WON 1st round with a buy run... I had a .520 light & ran it out to 12.96 on a 13.05 dial..
Ok here is where I feel like Warren Johnson..last year, he would qual #1 and lose first round :( ..
I lost 2nd round.. NOT making excuses but here is the honest truth, the car I was racing had a 12.89 on his window for a dial, I was at 13.03.
I KNEW I should be leaving first by a tad.... The track made an error & dialed him at 13.89 NO ONE saw it...
At the first flash of Yellow I hit it.. :( Duhhhh.... :conehead & I went .018 RED...
No excuses.. I blew it...
Also Chris lost in 2nd round, I dont know how,However one of us did GREAT....
Mackey was racing in the slick class... & ran RIGHT ON his # & lost... in the Slick Final.. so he got runner up $$ .. I guess he was treed... I think he went 5 rounds..
Next week I'll make my 2003 debut in the 03 Vette Challenge :)

As for me, I'm very happy for the way the car ran, seeing how I did even look at it all winter. Ya, in the finals I had my worst light of the day but my opponents wasn't much better and it made for a very close race. I dialed 11.91 and ran 11.91 dead on with a 6.

At least you guys got to race, I was too busy, but now my car is ready for next week. If I can hit that tree, look out.

Tough day for you buddy. I raced real street at night and beat myself with a sleepy light. Then raced in Heavy today and beat myself with an early light.
By Saturday I should be just right.

On my way in to work tonight I passed a trailered 70-something? Dodge Swinger. I think he had a high 10 second dial on his window. Was he on his way home from Etown? :) MJ
Hey REDGAR, I think we need a novice class for the ECSCCC! :) It's tough going against all you pros!!!

Some days you're the dog, some days you're the hydrant.
Well, that covers my 20+ years of racing !

ya know, i always check my dial on the score board before i stage, but never thought to check my opponents. Might have to add that to the routine....i can see where is you thought someone was leaving first and your tree came on, it could thorw you off, especially on a pro tree!!!!!!!

Pro-Dial is a great class!
I love the Pro-tree. It's a lot harder to go red with the pro tree, yet somehow I managed to do it anyway. Staging deep I went 0.487 red in the finals. I guess Panuzzo didn't mention that because I was driving my MUSTANG!!!
We need to get the car count up so that the Pro-Dial series doesn't die an early death (only 11 people ran on Saturday).. So bring your car out for the next race and tell all your friends about the series, I thoroughly enjoyed it!!

Eric... After I lost I watched the next round, & left.... I guess you DO have the hang of hitting a Pro Tree :)...
My best light of the day was ..517 I am assuming you WILL be at the next Pro TreeRace.. :)

Sounds to me like your starting to think at the line instead of reacting. This is not uncommon bad habit that some new racers get into after a few years.
Remember don't think, react.
