Baton Rouge Corvette Club
We have track day 2 or 3 times a year. About a dozen or so hardcore drag racers with another dozen or so that come just for fun. Also the local dragstrip, http://www.noproblemraceway.com has a SCCA road race course that several members have become hooked on.
We usually get together with the Lafayette and New Orleans clubs once or twice a year and have a confederation race day.
Every year we sponsor a car show for St. Jude Children's Hospital. We have raised over $65,000 over the last 5 years.

We don't have many people who currently drag race. Most of the club members are older with a small percentage of those have done it in the past.

I belong to Chesapeake Corvette Club here in Maryland and there are about five or six of us that will go to the drags occassionally.

Edgar, so those of is that remain unaffiliated will be missing out on certain aspects in the upcomign season ?
I couldn't care about joining any of the local clubs, I'm half the age of the average member.

The negativity around here is killing me.
No the guys that are not members of a club won't miss a thing.
I need another day or two after the banquet before I finish this one up.
This is a win win for the Corvette Challenge, a gain for drivers that are in clubs and a what they call a push right? for non club members who race.
So the only negative you gotta worry about is that I will be racing again next year :jester

Xtreme Corvettes of Texas. In Texas the big drag racing series is the Texas Muscle Car Club Challenge. Mainly longtime serious drag racers. You have to race with a club to participate. We race at various tracks throughout Texas and Oklahoma. Our club is too small to take the overall points title but we have one of the highest points per car entered. A Corvette only challenge just has not taken off down here.

A Corvette only challenge just has not taken off down here.
Maybe to many tracks, in to big an area, with not enough racer in any one area to make it work? :confused: :confused:
