when i went to the track today one of the officials came running over informing me and a lot of other guys well have to go to long wheel studs on the front and back they said something about some new rules :mad
If your studs are for example 1/2" wide then they must go into the hexagonal portion of the lugnut that far (so 1/2" past the tapered part). Get the long ones so that they stick out past the nuts and they won't have issues with ya.
They're working for me to, but don't tell anybody, they're still not long enough! The only other thing to do would be try finding a stud with the same diameter knurl in SAE thread and use non-metric lug nuts.
the track guy told me they are going to enforce it starting next year. keystone and dragway 42 is still opened for a couple more weeks i am going back to keystone this sunday again as long as the weather holds out stil trying for that 10 sec et
I use longer studs that work on my 93 with Weld Pro Stars. I use a factory GM part number, They are easy to install. I can get the number. they are about 3 1/2 inches long?? I got them from a friend here in Oahu, who I bought the wheels and tires from. I just raced this weekend and passed tech, well at least in hawaii, and they did look at the studs.
ps, I have H&R spacers for the rear. Trust me, these studs fit and they come to the end of the wheel lugs on the welds front and rear.
