Congrats to Pete Huff, winner of LSX Rumble in Atlanta
Congrats Pete
Here's the stories, seems he had quite an adventure
Peter Huff hails from Washington Township, New Jersey and is running his 1999 C5 Corvette in the LSX Rumble. He led the field running just .08 over his 10.50 index yesterday. The car was formerly owned by Edger Perez and was purchased about a year and a half ago. This is the debut at the CHP Nationals for Huff after racing some local events in 2013. Mark Motors and Anger Management Racing help out with sponsorship. The engine is an LS7 with LSX heads, a FAST 102 mm intake and aftermarket camshaft pushing just over 700 horsepower.
Peter Huff took home the win is Proform LSX Rumble today over Kevin Lumsden. Huff put a tree on Lumsden with an .014 reaction making it very difficult for Lumsden. At the stripe Lumsden was just .001 over index but could not get in front of Huff who ran a 10.518 on his 10.50 index. Huff had a near catastrophe on the way here after his hitch pin worked it’s way of of the receiver and the safety cables broke as well as the emergency trailer brake failed and he found his car and trailer were passing him on the interstate. The trailer went over an exit ramp, through a ditch and them dug in the ground just before smashing into a tree. The car broke free of the chains came off the trailer and nosed into the tree luckily causing only minor cosmetic damage. Getting the win after such an ordeal made Huff’s day and probably his whole year.
