Default First time racing a Vette

I'm going to the track this week for the first time with my Vette. Its not my first time drag racing but I would consider myself a Newbie.
Anyone have an tips or tricks for me.

C6 with stock suspension
Just shy of 500whp Tr6060 Z51 ratio trans with Twin Disk
M/T et streets 26-11.5-16

Im hoping to run low 11s in the mid 120s
Do my goals sound reasonable ?

I'd say unless you are a "pro-like" driver, be happy getting into the high 11's your 1st time out.

My 1st time out drag racing my (back then) 2006 C6 Z06 I ran a best of 12.0 in 3 passes, but this was on street tires. I had previously drag raced my C5Z06.

Navigating a C6 Corvette down the track is different.
Plus, the twin Disk may take some getting used to launching. I'd say use the 1st pass as a wash and just see how the car and clutch react. Don't dump the clutch while mashing the gas. You don't want to dead hook and break..

Good luck!

I'll post up my numbers tomorrow. I'm still getting used to the clutch. It will take a few runs before I get comfortable with it.
Hopefully I'll get a dozen or 2 passes in and learn how to get a decent 60 foot

I always like to hope for the best but expect the worse. This way you won't be disappointed.

First run was 12.1. Then everything went bad. Destroyed the engine. Buying a used car sucks. Buddy said it only had 8k miles on the engine Sad day Looks like I'll be installing my turbo kit now while the motor is out. Was going to sell it.

It was fun beating up my buddies 610 hp saleen. Pulled him every pull

Pulled into the staging lanes after a run and heard a wicked squealing. Then that developed into a pile of ticking and knocking with Low oil pressure.
We tore the motor down and a lifter has stopped moving for some reason. I assume the cam is trashed along with the block.
The plan now is an iron motor with my pte 7675 front mount kit.
