Default Boy did I have a bad day Saturday

Third gear went on the vette so I had to race in second,Third would kick in and out,Then half way home the wheel bearing went on the trailer smoke pouring out of the rear wheel,I made to Woodbury Commons the outlet stores on rt 32, I parked the truck took the vette out and drove the vette home in 2nd gear,That sucked!.I called my boss and asked if I can use the lowbed tractor & trailer,Told him what happened,He said yea go head.Drove to the yard another 40mins.Got the tractor & trailer went and picked up my truck & trailer.I pulled next to the lowbed trailer and was like oh crap its not going to fit.I was at a point of no return now, I was getting it on there some how so I backed it on,It only hung over alittle,Rear wheels hanging off the back It took me about 10 tries to get it on like that.Long story short,I got home at 2am

That's a heck of a rig!

Good luck with the repairs.

Wow Paul, that was a tough day for sure. Luckily you had access to that monster rig, but couldn't you have just repaired the trailer? Good luck getting everything back to 100%.

At that point with the Vette out of the trailer why not take off the tire on the bad hub and dive it home on 3 wheels?

I was near the end of 287 in nj then going into the NYS thruway,I stopped at the rest stop,The wheel was just wobbling around,It was to far gone.

I did that at the rest stop and the axle just hit the floor,I tried strapping it up and that didn't work either.I was going to take off the whole axle would have been 4 bolts on the leaf springs,But then I thought they are only 3500# axle's and between the trailer and car its 6800#'s So I'm thinking the good axle will collapse.

My trans pan was leaking,I fixed it and put back synthetic Bob,So I guess that was a bad idea

I dove through my town which is not that big right passed the police station,Passed 2 cops,Drove as close as I can to my house.Took off my truck & trailer drove about 1/10 of a mile to my house ran back to the truck and that was that!

What causes the 3-4 clutches to go bad? Certainly you're not shifting into 4th at a high power...

Could have been cause of the synthetic trans fluid I put in,The stuff is slippery.A piece fell on the floor I couldn't even pick it up,Kept sliding out of my hands.I have to stick with DEX 3 non synthetic fluid.I did change to a different 3-4 clutch setup.I did use the Z-Pac 3-4 clutch's which are 14 single sided and never had a problem with them,But I had changed to a double sided 3-4 clutch Alto RedEagle PowerPack ,So now I'm going to the the A-Pac 14 single sided 3-4 clutch's with Alto Red Eagle lining which are suppose to be better then the Z-Pac
