Atco pro race winner! Not me...
After 7 rounds last night in the Atco Pro class, Marc - 99ZX9R - came out victorious.
Congrats buddy!
And guess who he raced in the finals???

7 rounds is nothing to sneeze at. Good job.

Well, actually, Antoine was there last night. Perhaps he was pulling double duty.

Thanks guys...it was a long but fun night. And I'll be the first to admit there was a lot of luck involved.
Time shots went well, .038 and .019 on the tree with the car running strong. Too strong actually. I was in the 9.9s all night, meaning full fire suit, gloves, neck brace, window net, etc.
1st and 2nd rd opponents went red, whereas I was a late .063 and decent .030 respectively. My 3rd rd opponent was a way late .097 to my .038 for the easy win. 4th rd I had to earn with my buddy and fellow McNasby U alum Bob Bates. Bob and I both go deep and were quick treed just barely getting in when the lights came down. He cut a .028 light to my .003 (wish I could say that was intentional). I catch him, fender and dump at the stripe going .01 to the good and Bob breaking out by .02. 5th round bye courtesy of the quick tree induced .003. 6th rd I get the great Danny Northrop's nephew, who was mowing them down all night under the direction of his uncle. He goes .054 to my .016 light and makes my job even easier by getting loose mid track. I coasted to a 10.08 on a 9.92 dial for the W.
Now the Final. It's me and my bracket coach Bud McNasby for all the marbles. All night he's giving me advice and now I have to do my best to make him proud by putting him on the trailer. I'm holding .02 all night, but dial honest this round because this guy is always killer on the tree and very hard to judge by the way he dumps (hard and late). At this point I'm thrilled to be going rounds and just want to be green and make it a respectable race. I give him choice, we stage and down come the lights. He leaves and 3/4 of a second later I leave. The hit felt good, but safe so I'm figuring I'm .030 to .040. Turns out I'm .059 to his .010. Now there's only 2 ways I win a race like this: Bud throws the race (which would never happen) or he breaks. I'm about 60' out when I see Bud's car slam to the ground. He sheared off his wheel studs and lost a wheel. I coast for the win and hurry back to make sure he's ok (he was).
A little luck can sometimes go a long way.

Thanks...no pics other than some boring starting line shots taken from the track photographer. I leave the line just above idle and my car leaves soft so nothing exciting.
Brackets. I wouldn't mind running some 10.0 but that would require exhaust and smaller slicks.

Not gonna be in Florida that weekend.
Hope to be racing at home that day. Work has been messing with my racing schedule way too much lately.
