Englishtown, NJ Racers....
You guys may not be aware of it yet but on Wednesday night racing the time schedule has changed. They have started a new opening time in an effort to get some "MUFFLED" cars time runs before the 6 p.m. "open pipe" curfew. This will happen if enough cars come in that are time only cars, if you are going to run the $500 Gamblers you don't get extra runs.....unless of course you buy a time only run card also.....because they wouldn't want to give the "muffled" Gamblers an unfair advantage now would they...LOL The new opening time is 4:30 p.m. and they plan on putting muffled cars down the track by 5:30 and as un-muffled cars cannot start up before 6 p.m. there should be no reason why an additional 2 runs for muffled cars can not be accomplished...unless of course they are IMPORTS and blow up on each pass...LOL
Here is the down side....if not enough cars with mufflers come in at 4:30 they can't make it happen...but they are making every effort to have this happen. So if you have a muffled time only car, and want to make a couple of "early" runs Raceway Park is making every effort to get you in early and out early....give it a try.

Imports never blow up, never...............
They finally had their first Wednesday night last week. Plenty of crappy weather this year. I think there were 21 cars in the $500 Gambler race. Not a bad turnout for that. Was a very light night overall though. Still windy and chilly.

Mike, has the Sat $500 bracket attracted much interest? I'd probably enter if there was a reasonable car count. Unfortunately, it looks like my race schedule is going to be pretty limited in the first half of the season

Not much yet Ralph. We had seven cars on the first Saturday, four cars the next Saturday. Don't want to tell you who won.
I planned on doing more shooting on Saturdays and only race on Sundays this year. Needed a little break for a bit. Over 250 passes a year, gets to me after awhile.
I will race when it's nice out though on Saturdays and try to support that race. Don't plan on seeing me there when it's 80+ and humid though..........

Yes, the $500 Gambler on Saturday basically replaces Mean Street and is an all-run field with no worry about not being fast enough for the class. It is open to basically any car, but must be street muffled. Not sure if there is a 9.00 cutoff or not. Anyone interested can check the website for the specific rules for this Gambler Race.
