John will make a post and explain it in his words. It is not for us to report something like this. I spoke to John about the forum, I think I mentioned that in my other post. He agreed with me leaving information what happened. I feel that this is all about respecting his wishes. Some may not care about his wishes. I am sure word has traveled through texting, PM and so on. By asking questions or adding sarcasim is not appropriate under these circumstances.

John will be leaving the hospital tomorrow to go to pyhisical therapy rehab near his home. If anyone would like to call him to know more or wish him well he has his cell or ask for his room. I spoke to him at 8:15pm tonight. He had visitors yesterday, last night and today. The visitors are lifting his spirits.

Don't worry Rob, John knows who his friends are. He can explain what happened, if he choses to do so, when he feels like it. I only want to see him recover from the accident.

I could have been in his same situation the day my rack ripped-off the car after going 140mph. That was a frickin' handful to keep in my lane and get stopped. I was very fortunate, it could have been really ugly.

We truly respect and care about John and have him in our thoughts; very glad to hear that he will be leaving the hospital and being moved to a rehab near his home for physical therapy.

I have been one of the people in touch with Farley to help clear some of the confusion.

However, making this into such a "secret" is drawing more attention, questions and speculation to the matter than if someone had simply stated the situation and status, with those closest to John able to report updates on his status for anyone who is concerned.

Perhaps some posts that may appear to be "BS, asking questions, etc.", are simply a means for those concerned to express their frustration by not being part of those "in the know."

This has nothing to do with "John knows who his friends are" - Mike, that was out of character for you to say.

In my humble opinion, this could have been handled better amongst a community who care and are concerned about John, a fellow racer, and friend to many versus a few, select, "in charge" making this feel like some kind of conspiracy that requires special access or a secret handshake to know WTF is going on - leading to inaccurate conjectures, which is human nature.

We will keep John in our thoughts and continue to wish him the best towards a quick and complete recovery.

Default Update

I just talked to Panuzzo..

They are moving him today (wed March 12) to a rehab facility closer to his home in Somers, NY.

He said he will ask his daughter to bring her laptop so he can log on in the next few days. He has to keep very still, but if any of you have his cell #, he would appreciate the calls as it gives him "something to do".

Wish him the best of course!

Don't understand the secrecy but sure send John, who has become a good internet friend, all my best wishes.

I'm guessing he hit the wall. We are all a slip away from the wall, it's a risk we all are aware of and choose to take the risk.

It is not a secret, it is about respect and to protect his best interest so this will not go out of control. You don't think the video clip is BS? Only a few people saw what happened and they are not members of the forum. I am looking out for his best interest. I am not doing this behind his back. He is aware of what is going on. Why not sit tight and wait for his post. I am not the leader, dictator, bully, control freak.... Some what looking out for John while he is not able to have access to the forum. I think it is obvious to what happened but people are upset because the details are not up. Please be patient.

I just spoke to John at the hospital. He gave me the green light to tell his story.
Johns words:
Just at or about the 1,000 foot mark the car got loose and went to the right making contact with the right wall. All of a sudden, I don't know why or how. It just happened. After making contact with the right wall the car went to the left wall. This is were the car stopped.

Accident details:
The roof had to be removed to assist in getting John out. The car suffered heavy damage.

Johns condition:
Two vertebras fractured
Two ribs fractured
Fractured sternum
Fractured shoulder (collar bone)

John will be leaving the hospital today. He will be transported to Somers Manor Rehab - 189 RT 100 Somers NY 10589 (914) 232-5101

John is good spirits. When I speak to him, he will tell me who has called him. He so happy to hear from people. I think rehab and personal encouragement will be the best treatment for him at this time. I am almost positive that he will be online at the rehab. He said his daughter will have his lap top there for him.

I warned him to behave with the staff (woman). He assured me he would "the last thing I need is to get a woman pregnant"

I'm glad John will be ok. We all belong to a special close knit community. We all like our Corvettes and a good number of us race. Being out on the west coast, I do not know John but I have followed many of his posts and his new project with his motor. Imagine if you would, coming into this thread from the outside not knowing anything at all about the incident. I know there must be reasons for the "secrecy" surrounding the accident, and that's fine. To villify someone for innocently asking about what happened is just wrong. We are not accident gawkers, but rather concerned and curious about an incident that happened to one of us in the Corvette community. Those in the know are looking at the incident differently than the rest of us that have no clue. Let's just remember we are all in the same community. We all wish John a speedy recovery. Willie

Thanks for the update, Rob.

Having been through what John is going through, albeit without the physical injuries, I can understand the desire to keep information at the minimum until you're ready to "tell your story"

Tell John I wish him the best and a speedy recovery.
