My First NMCA EFI Rumble Event
Well, I dropped the ball. In round two I was not on the converter enough so my 60 foot was off by .04 and my ET was off by .08. If I did my job, I would have ran a 11.508, not the 11.61 (on the brakes). I calculated a 11.588 due to driver error if I stayed in it.
Well, it was my first event, lesson learned. Next event will be in 6 weeks but we will be running the 2nd LSX Event in Atlanta in 4 1/2 weeks.
Some may know, the head gaskets blew out when driving to Atlanta on this last trip. I had to be easy for the last 300 miles and then drive easy for 800 miles. A very long trip home.
Yesterday I traded the truck in for another Ford (I know!!) The new truck is a F450 with a 6.7 diesel. I hope, it should, I pray it will do the job. Goose neck tow capacity is 23,900.
I think Edgar said he may be at the MIR event signing autographs. I could not believe how tight the top three positions were in qualifying.
The guy I ran in qualifying ran dead on with a 4, with me along side him with a dead on pass of a 6. That same guy later ran dead on with a zero. I spoke to him later and he was shocked.
With the next event so close to home, I would think more of the local people would attend. Hint - Hint!!!
MIR is only three hours away from Old Bridge to give you an idea. So pack your stuff, leave the excuses home and get on the road.

You'll get 'em next time Rob, luckily it was only the first race.
Wow, F450, that's a big one.
Is it that close? I always thought it was like a full 4 1/2+ hours from me but I'm only 30-35 minutes (with no traffic) from Raceway Park.
None of my trips to MIR have ever been direct routes/non stop so maybe I need to try it one of these days, was considering the World Cup Finals in November maybe?

Rough outing Rob, but you seem to be able to bounce back better than anybody I know.
I'll see you at MIR, if not sooner.

Marc, the first race for me. The official first race for EFI was in Bradenton. The official third race will be MIR.
The LSX event is the weekend before. I will drive back form Atlanta to spend 2 days home, then drive to MIR. Stopping at home will be like a pit stop.
Here is a picture of the truck at the dealer about 2 hours before I drove away.

You're going to have your work cut out for ya in that points race (but I'm sure ya knew that goin' in). All ya have to do now is win the rest of them and you get the ring!

Thanks everyone. I need a truck that can whip my trailer around without a problem. I have to be sure to make it to the events this season.
You got it Marc, I have my hands full. I will be going into the remaining events with my typical racing attitude. With that I am extremely focused on one thing (going rounds & winning).

Did you trade/sell the other truck? Or are you going to fix it and keep for a back up? How many miles did you get out of that truck?
