Any C2/C3 street/strip racers in here?
I've recently started reading threads here in the Drag Racing section. I normally live over in C3 Tech but I like the focus on drag racing here so.....there any other C2/C3 guys that actually get out and race over here? Seems like a TON of C5/C6 guys here....I'm really impressed with what you guys are doing with daily driveable late model stuff and the numbers they are turning in....I guess that's 40-50 years of technology for ya.
So any old schoolers here?
I know 427Hotrod and Larrywalk should be chiming in in about 3...2....1....
Mine is just a stock looking, pump gas rat motor 71 C3 with full amenties (AC, PS, killer stereo), highway gears and 3700lbs. It goes consistent 6.70s@103+ in good air and full race trim through full exhaust/muffs.
How about some pics and slips from some C2, C3, C4 street strip cars?

flynnd_33, that solid axle kit by Autofab was one of the best things I ever did to my car. It just works and I never have even thought about it breaking. I check over it before every race it just looks like new. I've carried my front tires over 100ft at the track and the car went as straight as can be. I hit 9.80-.90 this last year pretty easy once I figured out the launching on drag radial setup, so with all my upgrades over this winter, my new goal wil be 8.90's. On a competely streetable, pump gas car.
Hope you get yours back on the road soon!

but yea for mine....since it kinda took over as a full on resto im goin through it and getting alot of weight outta this thing... i can honestly say ill pry tip the scales with me in it, heat, and full interior and cage.... should be 2900 to 3000 lbs but not over it....
And the small block has gone through some changes compression stayed the same 11:2:1 and still running outta the box AFR 210 elims but i did get a solid roller the 288AR-6 and a fully ported and balanced Vic Jr that flows 308-312 give or take each port....
so i was just kinda hoping for some comparsion combo to combo....you know for the solid axle guys lol
and when it comes time to setting up my 4 link....i wouldnt mind comparing notes....even tho every car is differnt...

Well, last year was just the begining. I wasn't setup to run nitrous really, the heads were just out of the box, no porting, the cam was way too small for the motor I only shifted at 6000 rpm. I'm also very sceptical of the Hooker Max flo mufflers I have. They are good, but I think I might be at their limit. I'm going to test them on the chassis dyno back to back without them to see. The car weighed 3300 with me in it. I'm running a 3.89 rear gear, too. The car ran 10.50 on motor and 9.90 on a 100hp shot of nitrous. I had to progress that leaving at only 10% and ramping that in over 2 seconds. It wouldn't go any faster with anymore nitrous since it the exhaust on the cam was way small. Also running a TH350 trans, with doesn't help launching on nitrous either.
This year...I've dropped 200lbs off the car, switching to a power glide trans with a 1.80 first gear, I send the heads off and had them ported to 235cc and they flow 320-330 cfm now. That's up from 280cfm. I'm doing a nitrous profiled cam that is 270/284 at .050 and .740 lift w/114LSA. So, it should like nitrous now. Also went with an actual race tunnel ram instead of the street one I had. It was to small for the cubic inch. The motor will still be pump gas friendly and same 3.89 gears. I am also upgrading from the EZEFI I was testing last year to see how far I could push it, to the new XFI2.0. My 4 link setup is IC 39.8" out and 9.5" high antisquat of 138%. I run my shocks on 2 or 3 from full loose. This is what my car likes with the drag radials. It likes alot of seperation and then maintain it. Launching last year was footbraking it. I brought it up to 3000rpm and then let it fly. This year I have a tranbrake so it will be a little different.
