The car looks real nice.

The 9" IRS is interesting, curious to see how well it works?

There is no justification for installing a Ford engine unless the owner already had one and just wants to use it because he had it.
Either that or...
The rules in the class that the owner wants to race in, favors a particular set of Ford heads. (Which I have seen before)

Ultimately, Chevrolet has it over Ford until you get to the point of Billet Blocks and Billet heads, where at that point the engines are neither.
ie: Sonny's engines, and even then, he calls them "Chevrolet" based Semi-Hemi's etc....

Same for Top-Fuel (Which are based off of Chrysler Hemi's if you had to pick one and are also Billet.)

In NHRA Pro-Stock, GM dominates!

In the NMCA, GM also dominates.

Ford had to come up with thier own sanctioning bodies just to win!
See: NMRA, Fun Ford Weekend, etc...

Let's see...Who won the last 5 NASCAR championships in a row?

except you are comparing apples to oranges, in most of the radial and series races the small block ford is dominant over the small block Chevy
and the ls1 [which is a ford FE shrunk down] isn't even an also ran.
plus the cost of a good LS1 is prohibitive to most racers, limited street is also dominated by big block fords. ez street also record from a ford
let me see you go buy a pro stock part from gm

and i have a bbc big chief in my fairmont, but next year we are going to smallblock for the black vette, and yes it will probabely be a chevy..lol

but you where right he had the engine

So I was right twice:
1) He already had the engine.
2) The class that he wants to race in favors small block Ford heads.

So are you telling me that the small block Ford stuff is making more power than the CFE Small Block Chevrolet Heads?
Those heads hold more ET and MPH records than anything.
They have gone 5's in a door car!
What are you going to tell me next? They are too expensive?

I don't want to hear that the LS1 stuff is too expensive or that it is similar to an FE Ford.
Did Ford invent the 90' V8?

Give me the money and I'll go buy the Pro-Stock GM parts.

sorry but it is, and you ls1 guy's hate that it is,
now i dont know who you deal with ,but the last ls1 my buddy got cost him 28,000.00 paul sold his long blocks for what 20k used, johns 427 ls1 cost 27k
i mean come on they are not cheap. my big chief engine didnt cost anywhere near that, actually a good regular small block chevy doesnt cost what an ls1 does [power for power]

and actually ,Frenchman Leon Levavasseur was a 39-year-old inventor in 1902 when he took out a patent for the first V-8 engine he called the Antoinette. wasnt chevy?? but ford did improve on it in
the most important improvement of Levavasseur's invention is Henry Ford's one-piece version with a down draft carburetor application. It remained unchanged for nearly 20 years until Chrysler developed the hemispherical "Hemi" V8 and experimentation began on fuel-injected motors.
still no chevy,hmmmmmmm.lol

oh and yes you where right once, he had it, nothing to do with any class he will run

Race motors aside, I do love the new 5.0 in the Mustang GT though I'll ALWAYS be a huge fan of the lightweight, compact, fuel efficient and POTENT LS1/LS2/LS3/LS6/LS7 motors.

What I was saying was that the LS1 is not a copy of the FE anymore than Ford copying the "Antoinette".

There is a reason that the original small block Chevy was and is the most popular V8 of all time.
People have been swapping in SBC into Fords forever and it's still happening today.
Like LS1's into Fox Bodies.
It's so common, that companies make headers and K-members and everything to do it!

Yes, the LS1 is expensive, but that is not part of my equation.
Power is Power no matter what the cost and LS1 stuff is getting cheaper and cheaper.

Have you seen the power that the LSx Moses heads make?
Your talking 1,000+ hp NA from a small block!

You completely ignored the SBC CFE Heads, what's the matter too expensive?

You are in the Corvette Forum you know?
Guys like Tim Lynch, John Carter, Paul Major and plenty of other ultra quick guys race Corvettes.
They are more worried about ET than money.

I also noticed that you race a Chevy powered Corvette.

Face it, GM powered Corvettes and Camaros rule the strip besides a few occasional exceptions.

Tell your customer that he has made no friends here.

What I was saying was that the LS1 is not a copy of the FE anymore than Ford copying the "Antoinette".[thats not true, wedge head, cross bolt mains, high thin intake ports]

There is a reason that the original small block Chevy was and is the most popular V8 of all time.[ but the most popular car is a mustang 3 to one over a camaro]
People have been swapping in SBC into Fords forever and it's still happening today.
Like LS1's into Fox Bodies.
It's so common, that companies make headers and K-members and everything to do it!thats because ford engines fit right in without changes so they dont need special part, dam the mustang pan fit right in the vette ,they must have known something lol

Yes, the LS1 is expensive, but that is not part of my equation.
Power is Power no matter what the cost and LS1 stuff is getting cheaper and cheaper.[well you must be one of the rich ones,as most i know have a budget and an ls1 isnt in it]

Have you seen the power that the LSx Moses heads make?
Your talking 1,000+ hp NA from a small block![what is that engine 40k]

You completely ignored the SBC CFE Heads, what's the matter too expensive?[any aftermarket head company has a head to make 1000 hp from and small block nowadays, and a conventional engine is still cheaper than an LS1]

You are in the Corvette Forum you know?[yes i do,sorry i forgot, god forbid some one travels of the easy path]
Guys like Tim Lynch, John Carter, Paul Major and plenty of other ultra quick guys race Corvettes.[not so many in the relm of thing and they are big blocks twin turbo no$$$$ spared cars]
They are more worried about ET than money.[true]

I also noticed that you race a Chevy powered Corvette.[no its a chevy powerd fairmont i have now, read my post above, lol]

Face it, GM powered Corvettes and Camaros rule the strip besides a few occasional exceptions.[not so much anymore, esp in the series tyoe paces,,orsca, ortc,ss susp races, mostly small block ford]

Tell your customer that he has made no friends here.[ he wasnt lookin for friends he has enough of them, and he also has a blown ls1 vette for his street car, so he's only half bad,[guess which half.lol]

ok i,ll pick this up later.......

Expensive Chevy Engines!

Mustang out sells Camaro because of the V6 Mustang.
Who cares about the V6?

I was talking about your Blue Corvette, I forgot you sold it.
(That was a sweet car)

I know you were smart enough to put a Chevy in a Fairmont, but I try to block that out of my mind.

Nice rear set-up! Is there a 9" similar to this made for a C4?
