My new Bullet is finished...
I will be debuting it on Saturday night at the Summit event in Orlando...
It is a forged 461 BBC, Dart high rise intake, APD carb, Comp solid roller cam 598/598, 10.7 CR runs on 93 pump gas...we tried to set it up to go 7.30 dead nuts every time in the 1/8...looks like it may be a bit faster...we'll see...
Here is a pic from today...

OK...I ran the car last night...we were trying to set it up for 7.30's in the 1/8 for brackets...it went 7.29 @94.40 spinning out of the hole...
We found out two important things last night...one is the motor runs real strong...two, we have a converter issue...I had my shift light set at 6000 rpm...it came on so fast it caught me by surprise...my 1-2 shift was only 100' from launch or maybe less...sheesh...my 2-3 shift was about 200' out...I was in third gear for most of the 1/8 mile and trapped at 6000 rpm...I would have never made it through the 1/4 mile with my rev limiter at 6750 rpm...
Looks as if we have a loose converter on our hands...I have no doubt FTI will remedy this problem...once the converter is right and we can hook out of the hole we feel 7 teen's at about 96 mph should be where we end up...last night the temps were 80* and humidity was between 85 and 94%...it sprinkled rain on us one time...the air was real thick...
I am not complaining...my motor guy said it might be a bit faster than we wanted...he was right...I am pleased at how my little 93 octane pump gas engine performed...

WOW really nice times on pump gas I am impressed sir.
You might want to keep the converter the way it is for 1/8 racing. All the shifts are done at 200' and you can then concentrate on the top end game. Something to consider especially with your 1/8 mile ET.

I thought of that Kaz but I do race a few 1/4 mile events every year...I really doubt I could make it to the 1/4 traps...also, I gotta tell ya the shifts happen so fast it is disconcerting...
My main concern is the heat building up in the tranny from a loose converter...loose equals lots of slippage equals heat equals not good, so I am told...
Greg at FTI will get me set up correctly I am sure...I will be interested what it runs in the 1/4 when I do...I'm thinking 11.30 or 40's....we'll see...I'll say this, I sure like leaving at 2800 rpm...teen lights almost every time...he he he...
