Default 04 z06 vs e39 m5

What mods if any would be needed to beat a 01 m5 with 3.45 gears, intake, mufflers, lightweight flywheel, tune, and like 100lbs of weight reduction.
the z06 have blackwing filter and coolant by pass. tryin to get intake duct within the week.
u think i'll be able to take it from a dig?

This is the "Drag Racing section.... I have always raced from a Standing Start.. as most of the members who frequent this forum do...

However if you can how you race "From a "DIG" I'll try to help.. do you use a backhoe for a "DIG"

Where do you race from a "DIG" sounds like it might be fun.... I'm going to E Town this weekend and will ask them if they will permit me & another car to start 50' behind the starting line, ans go side by side and "Dig" it at the starting line

Will it be a fair race how will you know if I "DIG" it .20 before you.. the RED light wont show who was the fastest "DIGGER"

Whatever kind of cars you are comparing, I'd suggest if a "DIG" means a "Standing Start" then thats the REAL WAY TO RACE... if you have a Front Wheel drive then race from a roll...

either way...the best mod to get is a set of Drag Radial tires. and you will HOOK UP from a "DIG" or if I'm correct a "Standing Start" or a STOPPED POSITION..

Good luck..

Jpee, youre definitely losing it my friend, and thats being kind to not say you already lost it

To the OP: Given equal drivers and traction, you should win from a dig

Given the 2 choices, I would definitely say the vararam. As long as you plan on staying NA, the vararam is a great intake and then you can sell your blackwing. That, along with a dyno tune will be a nice gain over stock, or add a set of headers for an even nicer gain

i'd be goin with just the vararam intake duct not full intake since i already have the filter. its goin to stay n/a with just like intake, ported tb, thermo, and tune my dad doesnt want the car to be loud so exhaust will stay stock.

But do u think that would be a good one to go with its only $80shipped want to order by tonite

A bone stock 2004 C5 Z06 is capable of high 11 second passes in bone stock trim...a V8 (or even a V10) M5 is not.
And those mods on a V8 M5 are still not quite enough to overtake a C5 Z06 with a few extras.

Depending on your (and his) skills with a manual trans/clutch it might not be a total slaughter so don't go easy at all, give it all she's got LOL.
