Default Thanks CARTEK RACING

Thanks go out to Julio from Cartek racing for his effort to get my car jetted down so that I could run close to the 11.50 et in this weather, it was very warm today. On my first pass today the car ran slower due to the higher temps. First pass was an 11.70 then an 11.68. I did not like these numbers. I mentioned this to Julio from Cartek and asked him if he could switch my jets to make the car run as close as possible to an 11.50. He says yes but that the jets were in the shop and that he would leave the track and come with the jets in about 1 1/2 hours. I said Wow to that but told him that perhaps we could get them at the speed shop at raceway park. We stoppped in to see if they had the correct jets but they did not stock NX Express jets. Now I am out of luck and told him to forget it. Julio then tells me he knows of a GTO owner who may have the jets and that he will get back to me. I believe it took him about 45 min and was back with the right jets for me. He quickly went to work on the car in the staging lanes and installed the jets. Now it was up to me to run the car. Time shot first pass on the juice 11.47, second timeshot pass I ran an 11.45. I guess I will now be ready to run the 11.50 index coming up with no problems running the number. Thanks also to the GONE member Frank who supplied the jets....awesome group those GTO guys and gals.

Thanks also to the Cartek crew for getting the rear end issues resolved with a new set of clutch packs that were installed. I am now able to do two wheel burnouts....

Not all my runs were with the juice and I was able to run an 11.92 on an 11.90 dial in against Tommy in the secound round of elim in the GTO event but he still took me out running me down after also cutting a better light also.

In the EFI bracket event I spun hard in the first round and was unable to catch my opponent.

As for my lights, I have made progress during my time shots today I cut a .001 light, my best this year anyway. I need these when we are in the elims though.........

See you guys soon........

They are an awesome group but I think it was actually Bob ('BLUEBIRD05GTO') that helped out there, I was standing there when Julio and him were searching through his goody bag o' nitrous jets.

And I agree, Julio and company helped me out big time as well today.

I too wanted to thank Cartek Racing for helping me out at the track this week as well (new best MPHs in both the 1/8th and 1/4 ). They are always busy (both at the shop and while at the track) but somehow still find the time to lend quality support to all of their customers and it's very much appreciated.

I also want to thank CARTEK for helping my car get to where it is today too!

I drive it 1 hr to the track, can run low-mid 10's, & drive home with no stalling, or hood shaking cam, ice cold A/C too, etc..

This past Sat, I slowed my car down to run in the 11.50 Index, and was the #1 Qualifier with an 11.500, dead on..

The versitility & consistency of this car is amazing!
Thanks CARTEK!

Oh yea, good job on Sat Jerry...!!
I loved how you thought your 11.506 was gonna be #1..

That's really scary when an 11.506 (or even an 11.501 ) isn't enough anymore to be the top qualifier LOL.

Oh, I thought it was Frank that suppiled the jets Marc well thanks to Bob ('BLUEBIRD05GTO'), I'm going to have to look for him while I am RP sometime and thank him personally.

Congrats on your new best too!

Ellis, I was the one who mentioned to you that there was still a chance that someone could qualify with a better number in round 2. You stated that nobody was going to do that and that I would keep that #1 spot, only to run a dead on 11.500 mine you against me. Anyway that was awesome!
