Boweryboy's Worlds Fastest C5 IRS by the Vette Doctors is for Sale
Hi all,
Yes that is right I am considering selling my 1997 C5 IRS record breaking beast. As I look forward to this years racing season I have to balance my family/work priorities with my hobbies. My son is 13 now and is on 3 baseball teams and I enjoy going to those games and as always work keeps me traveling. I just bought a 2006 C6 Z06 with the Vette Doctors Heads and Cam Package so that will temporarily satisfy my need for speed along with my ZR1.

The car was built by the Vette Doctors and American Racing Headers with help from Turbo People.
Engine: 2008 WARHAWK LS7X Aluminum Block (402 cu), ETP LS7 6 bolt Aluminum Heads, Jessel Mohawk Rockers, Custom Vette Doctors Turbo Solid Roller Cam, Solid Lifter Crower Roller Lifters, Front mounted Mallory ignition and coil, GM Aluminum LS7 intake Manifold, Custom LS2 Oil pan with external 2 stage ARE oil pump and custom 102mm TB with custom American Racing headers plumbing.
Electronics: Accel DFI, V300SD Data Recorder with datalink including 8 EGT’s sensors, driveshaft rpm, temp, boost, etc sensors. AMS1000 boost controller
Turbo Components: CO2 Wastegate w/2lb bottle, 106MM Rear Mounted Turbonetics Turbo, Custom Water Cooled Intercooler, Complete Custom American Racing Headers Exhaust and plumbing professionally swain coated.
Transmission: Stage IV+ TH400 w Trans Brake by Freddy Brown, Scatter Shield, DTE Brace, Custom Vette Doctors Torque Tube, Neal Chance 2 piece Torque Converter and custom Vette Doctor’s solid mounts. Turbo Action Cheetah SCS Shifters with CO2 w/1lb bottle and Biondo Double Shift RPM Activated Switch.
Rear End: Custom Vette Doctors 3:45 rear with heat treated and hardened material (shafts, axels, etc) and safety loops.
Suspension and wheels: CCW Wheels with brand new (3 runs) Mickey Thompson 345 DRs. QA1 Shocks all around and stock springs.
Interior: Custom 10 Point Roll cage Certified to 8.50, New 5 point Harness, Full stock gauges, dash and door panels. Power Windows all operable along with Head Lights, Turn Signals and Horn. 5 Gal Fuel Cell and 5 Gal Aluminum Ice container for intercooler.
This car is an awesome 8.50 Index Car which is the hottest racing series sweeping the nation. I have won several 8.50 index races and finished in the finals many other times. It leaves soft (1.40 60 foot) and finishes like a beast (best MPH-175!) which really throws off the competition that tries to peddle the top end against you. As you could imagine a lot of time and money went into building this car and it runs consistent 8.50’s at 160MPH+. I have never pushed this car past 23 lbs of boost on the track and the car is capable of making 30lbs+. the car made 1200RWHP on the Dyno at 25lbs of boost with a fat tune which the car still has in it. The current Drive train has about 10 runs on it since the motor was built, and the Transmission, Torque Convert and Rear was rebuilt.
I would like to find a good home for the car this season. I am not in a rush to sell it. I intend on racing a few more times this season schedule permitting. If the car does not sell I will most likely keep it until next season and re-evaluate my time commitments and possibly race it more often next year.

I'm sure you have double the selling price in it , it will be tough to get your asking price with this economy , your best bet is to advertise it overseas , I saw it on racingjunk.com too .

Carmen is trying to get it ready for the next Pro 8 if time permits I am going to try and make the next event.
The Vette Doctors are swamped right now. So much so they just added another mechanic to the team. We need to adjust a few things, update the tune and clean her up.
I am a little bummed about not getting out yet this year but I have to tell you I am having a blast with my son and his baseball. He is 13 and on 3 teams. Yesterday he had a double header and he went 4 for 7 with 6 RBI's.
I had several offers in the low 40's that I just can't accept. I have lowered it to 49K which in this economy I think is fair. Once I get her out to the track I am not so sure I will still list it for sale!
