Default [VIDEO]Once upon a time when we were young ..... ULTIMATE C5 Video

I've been away for a few years. I see now so many new members but I remember when the forum members would try nearly anything to squeak out another tenth or mile per hour on the drag strip. We did not have the hi tech parts available today and the tuning was ever so primitive. There was a real pioneer spirit as we tweakked our cars with only the few aftermarket parts available.

I produced 7 movies that documented what it was like only 6 years ago. Doesn't seen that long ago but we were in the infancy of racing these machines. We had a lot of fun...and a lot of failure. But, oh..the joy when our feeble attempts worked.Below find the last of the 7 movies...and I think the best. From 2003.

This is a 11 MB file so Dial Ups ..Be patient!
I promise it's worth the wait! ... Enjoy!

Hey Vince! Thanks to you and your car I am now going on 5 years of drag racing addiction. Two days after I bought my car I gave you a call to discuss gears for my car and we talked for almost an hour. The car has came a long way from those first low 13 second passes at Moroso!
Good to see you checkin' back in with us.

I just bought your old 2001 Pewter off of a dealer where Mark traded it in for an 06 Z06. I will be taking it to the track for the first time on Wed 6-17-09. I am really looking forward to it. I hope this car can take regular bracket racing, because that is mostly what I bought it for. Any input would be appreciated Vince.
Thanks

I know this car. Mark took excellent care of it. It never saw track duty like it did with Vince, but it sure runs good on the street. I'm not calling Mark a waxer, but...the car was always immaculate. I think he changed the rims and tires almost as often as he changed the oil and filter.
...Good luck with it.

I look back through his posts and counted at least 5 different sets of wheels. Right now though, I wish it had the CCW drag pack.
