Congrats to Tracy Lewis....
Congrats go out to Tracy Lewis..he won the Sportsman class tonight at Lakeland Motorsports Park...Mike (Red69) was a semi finalist...Tracy drove Emily's Camaro with the Rev Extreme bracket tune in it...I saw him post a .011 package one round...the man has not raced in competition in a year...sheesh!...
Your truly went out before the first round...during time shots Glensgages noticed I was throwing out sparks on my burnout and through the traps...it turns out my battery hold down in the trunk broke and with the fuel cell right next to it I decided to put it on the trailer till another day...sadly, I just redid that hold down last Sunday with a new battery and obviously did an awful job of it...oh well...

I went to the track last night in the Suburban, to help my friends, and left the '82 at home, because it needs to return to RevXtreme for some nagging problems (re-wiring the converter lock-up and a bouncing tach-needle) and final tuning:
when he arrived, Tracy said he would let me race Emily's Camaro, so that he could run my Corvette and get a 'feel' for what it needed, but he was disappointed that I'd left the car at-home.
We got into a 'friendly-arguement' about who would race the Camaro
Tracy ~ "it has our special bracket-tune, and I want to see what it'll do with you driving the car instead of me"
Me ~ "W-d-F, ya old-fart..... don't YOU know how to drive anymore..... shuddup & drive!!!!!"
After helping a customer of his unload their car (a Yenko/replicar Nova that eventually ran 7.002 @ 104 in the 1/8-mile) from their trailer, he went straight to the lanes and reeled-off a -.001 Reaction Time, followed by a -.006 RT.
through the course of the evening, he assisted his customers, who car had typical first-time-out bugs (electrical gremlins, header-gaskets leaking, a small leak from the radiator, etc., even leaving the track to buy supplies for his customers), and made a few time-shots, which all seemed to be 8.54 to 8.56
In the 1st Round, Tracy drilled his opponent on the tree, but ran 8.539 on an 8.54 dial-in, so he bought-back into Competition:
with Eliminations moving quickly, I didn't get to speak with Tracy often, but I know he had RTs of .012 in the Quarter-Finals, and .002 in the Semis.
After winning the Final Round, I refused to congratulate Tracy, saying "..... shows how-smart YOU are..... you wanted ME to drive thing thing tonight!":
the dude can still find the finish-line first.
I was so-busy helping others that I didn't get any pictures of Emily/Tracy's Camaro, but I got a few of Red 69's street & strip '79
in the second picture, notice Red's Pre-Stage & Stage lights are already out (and his opponent's lights are still glowing), while the 3rd Amber bulbs are still illuminated.
this '77 ran easy 7.80s & 7.90s
Marc Fisher also took his 'Bat Outta Hell' C5 for testing, and it ran a pair of 6.90x @ 103 runs with a slight stumble off the line, easily it's best 660' times yet.

Glad everybody got to race some, well almost everyone.
Fuzzy Dice, you WILL get the bugs worked out.
Red 69, I see you are still your usual self, always around at the end.
Tracy, The man can wrench, tune and drive.
Glensgages, When you get used to the 82 and it is dialed in, you will bring the Z down from the frozen tundra, Will you run both cars?
Sorry I missed you guys, hopefully the Saturday after X-mas.

Thanks for the wrench support at the track Glen. Your Suburban is well stocked with tools and your turning them is a big help. I was pleased to finally meet Tracy and CONGRATULATIONS for his win! In the staging lane he expressed to me his concern about being out of racing for so long. I said you don't forget how to ride a bike and that round he cut a
.00X light. It was the competition that needed to be worried. Too bad his shop is on the other side of the swamp from me. I'll need to get the trans slippage problem diagnosed and resolved quickly to make the next event.
I had plenty of fun at Lakeland and broke a track record you guys aren't aware of. That's right, I got the most time shots ever made in one event. It cost me a transmission, but it was the record I was after! I'm still counting the time slips and havn't found them all. LOL

Red if you make that-many time shots again, you'll need to refill the fuel tank:
if you leave the track and turn Left on Rt. 33, there is a BP/AMOCO about 3 miles East, on your Right.
Fuzzy claims the announcer mentioned "this guy in the Red Corvette..... SURELY wants to get his money's worth tonight!" as Red made yet another time-run:
when Red finds all of his time cards, maybe he can determine how-much deep-staging costs in ET, as he made 3 runs after knocking-out the top-bulb during pre-race testing, and this was Red's 3rd Semi-Final in his last 5 races.

Nice going, Craig...my junk is going in for C Clips and a new battery hold down on tuesday...maybe we can all get together at Lakeland between Christmas and New Years if they do that race again...
BTW, Batpoop went multiple 10.80's today at the need for speed deal at BMP...looks like he finally has the car tuned correctly...
