Default Moroso Corvette Challenge - party for final event on the old track May 17, 2008?

As you all know, our final event on the old track will be May 17, 2008. A lot of memories and friends were made on that piece of ashpalt. Seems only fitting to go out with a bit of a party!

I'm sure Elite Cake Creations our sponsor can hook us up with a going away cake!

I think it would be fun if we could get some video of the final event that we could post it to the Corvette Challenge website...anyone want to volunteer for that?

Any other ideas on how we can send off our beloved track into history and create some memories?

I wont be there.. I am out of town and will sure miss being there..

But I WANT a chunk of that Ice Skating Rink to put on my desk as a reminder. Someone bust me off a piece! Preferably within the first 60 feet or so...

I'm out of town that weekend too, for a conference in Vegas. Best of luck to everyone there...

I'm trying to get a bunch of guys from work to go to Test & Tune, Wednesday, May 7th, after work, if anyone feels like joining us see you there!

I will try to remember to bring my video camera. If some of my extended family is out there, I can get them to video tape some of the races. I am hoping to be running the Monte Carlo and have the Vette at Roger's for the start of the makeover. I hope Strange Engineering gets the rear down to Roger soon!!!

If anybody goes out early we can drink plenty of beer and really start partying.

I was actually hoping they'd keep the test and tune lanes open so we could get more than one pass after going out first round...

Last two events I went out first round (like normal ) and they closed the lanes after only one TnT round. Before the last two events (for the last 3 years), they kept the lanes open and I would get 3 or 4, sometimes 5 or 6 runs in easy, which made it a very fun night.

Plus, we still get out at the same time....it's just the lanes sit empty while the challenge racers let their cars cool off.....which means all the spectators go home (nothing to watch) and the food & beverage vendor closes up (nobody to buy anything). Money's being wasted with people going home early!!

Oh...and since I'm on the topic, I hope they keep the gift shop open during race evenings when they re-open. I would have done some shopping for gifts there many times if they were open when we were there racing. Seems funny when there is a crowd there the gift shop is closed.

All that said I'm just thrilled they are renovating!!!

Party? Who's has the keg???? Joe, that sounds great. Why don't everybody bring a video camera and we can make clips on the event. I hope they let us run more than 1 tnt after we get knocked out (like last time Joe). I have more fun running tnt afterwards with my buddies than runnig in the challenge for points.

TTT boys and girls, one week away!

Let's make sure we've got some cameras!

Mike, any chance we could get started early so we have some more daylight? Maybe have an extra time run or two before we start?

Tech will be set up outside the gates again this time. I ask all challenge drivers to try to get to Moroso by around 3:30. Drive on up toward the gate and look into the field to your left. That is where they will be doing early tech. Do not sit in line alonf the entrance driveway. As soon as gates open, get right back to the skid pad and get cars prepped. All you regulars, please do me a huge favor. If you see a new face that is planning on running with us, please send them to me. I may do my drivers meeting before 1st round eliminations instead of before qualifying rounds. I want to get 3 qualifying passes in before dark if possible. PLEASE, bring cameras and camcorders so we can get great footage!!!
