I had a short, but interesting night in RS. I picked my car up from the shop a half hour before entering the gate. Just before round 1, I noticed that my right front tire was leaking air. I gotta run 24 psi in my FWD car to stick nicely off the line, and my right front dropped down to about 18 psi as we were getting pulled. I figured I'd be okay so I took the run. I ended up having to face Joe Puskas (the points leader) and raised the dial some because of the extra drag. I was .080 and he was .070, but I got lucky running dead-on. My air dropped down to 16 after the first round, so I gave it some extra air for the second round and lowered my dial 6 hundreths. I lost, but check out this timeslip. It was a great race... probably the closest race I've ever been in.
Actually... this leads me to a question. Is a plugged tire safe for often regular use and bracket racing? This is no race car, as you can see, and all signs seem to point that it'll be fine. I'm less than a year away from buying new tires, regardless.
Thanks guys, it was my first time racing Real Street. Lots of strong cars in this eliminator.
Got a little lucky in the finals, as it was my worst light of the day (15+ runs), but I guess it makes up for my loss in the CC when I had a .009 light.
