Changes to the 2008 Corvette/GM CHallenges series at Moroso!! Please read!!
Hey Gang,
As I mentioned in this past months drivers meeting, the track will be closing!! I was notified a few weeks ago but was asked not to mention anything officially until this past event. Now, Moroso has made it official. As stated in the meeting, there will be a challenge May 17th. This will be the last Challenge on the old Moroso track. Once the track is completed, we will be going back for one last 2008 event. If this event falls on the first scheduled day of 2009, it will be a double points event.
Also, I will have an "event" scheduled for the following dates:
June 21, July 19, Aug. 16, Sept. 20, Oct. 18, Nov. 22, and Dec. 20th.
These dates represent the 2008 challenge schedule, which means most of you planned on coming out and spending $30.00 that night anyway!! I do not want our group to seperate during this down time!! So, 5 points will be awarded at each one of these events and will be added to the final challenge points. Now, let me explain something!! Any event that is on one of those dates will be held in Broward or Palm Beach. This way it will be fair to all. All you need to do is show up at the event and see me to get your 5 points. You don't have to do better than someone to get the points. The first event will be go-cart racing at either Moroso or Xtreme indoor go-carting center. No matter how good or bad you are at these events, you still only get 5 points for showing up! If there is anyone receiving this e-mail that objects to this idea, please e-mail me back by Wednesday of this coming week. Also, please e-mail me a phone number so I can be sure my records are accurate.
One last thing! Bob Mancuso started something wonderful a few years back and it's my honor to see it continue. I know there are many of you that have come to me and have thanked me for stepping up and keeping this event strong, and I really appreciate that!!! Our car count has increased each month from the first 2008 event to now. Not to mention the fact that we have already exceeded 10 cars in our GM Challenge after only 3 events. This means we have already had 45 different drivers enter in our events in 2008. Now, I want to personally thank all 45 of you for coming out and helping me have a wonderful night!! There is allot of work that takes place off the track, but it's what you all do at the track that keeps me going.
So all my fellow Corvette and GM racers, you have 2 more events to get those points up plus a potential 35 points remaining if the track stays closed until after Dec. 20th. Let's stay together and have some FUN!!!!!
I'm in for the full contact Go-Karting event on Moroso's road course. I'm also in for the Coordinator Paint ball Hunting party.

Rut Row....I know which carts are the slowest so Mike you let me know which friends you want to drive circles around.
Hmmm, let me think!!! It sounds like I need the fastest one since I will be the one with the target on my back. I think Stevo needs the slowest one since he is the thinner guy in our group. Weight matters on these things!

Hmm great!! I am looking forward to this! Plus I should be under 170lbs by then...
Mike...we could race heads up...my 86 in current (slow) form and your C5 with its current motor. Would be a close race! LOL
I did a compression check today. I found 1 cylinder with a total pressure of 000000!!!!! I think I found the bad cylinder. Now, what could be causing such a number?? I may know tomorrow.
There has been a little confusion about the 2008 schedule. Moroso announced that we will be going back racing on our already scheduled October 18th date. They sent a flyer out showing the next event after that as being on November 8th, but the latest update and what we already had set was November 22nd. The December 20th date is still good. I spoke with the track yesterday and they said there were no changes to the existing schedule, except for the down time for renovations. I will talk with the track tomorrow to get the latest info.
