I can now put my fuzzy dice to good use hanging from the mirror of my new race car...I purchased a 1981 Camaro...it is a slicks and skinnies car with a 402 BBC....it has a TH400 tranny and a 12 bolt posi rear....electric water pump and an alternator...the battery is in the trunk with an approved push/pull switch...there is an 8 gallon fuel cell as well...
I don't know what cam is in the motor but it lopes pretty good and sounds hydrolic...the heads are factory but ported and polished...the pistons are forged...it came with a nitrous set up installed...a 300 shot!...I won't be using that puppy...just for show right now...
The car has gone 11.44 on motor only but I will be changing that...it currently has 4:56 gears and a 28" tire out back..goes through the 1/4 mile traps at 7,000 rpm...yikes!...nice 1/8 mile set up but I race 1/4 as well and that is to much rpm for me, so.....I will be putting 30" slicks on for now...hoping that will bring my trap rpm down to 6500 or so...if not, I will be changing to 4:11 gears and a 29" tire which should put me right at 5900 rpm through the traps...I plan to do this anyway at the end of the season since 6500 is still a bit high for my liking...I expect my ET will drop to the 11.70's under both the 30" tire and gear change scenario's...
I have put up some pics for y'all to see...it may be junk but it's my junk now... ...btw, I got the entire rig, car and trailer, tie downs, locks for everything and a car cover for...................$6,000 out the door...
Thanks...whenever you like, just jump on in...I too am hoping the shifter is fuzzy proof...lol...the previuos owner was using the button on a B&M shifter handle to activate the nitrous...my guy is going to helio coil that handle and put it on the Winter shifter..then he can hook up my line lock to the B & M handle button..should work well...
I am going to call you in a minute..thanks so much for the tall tires, buddy...
Congratulations DAN I'm sure you will enjoy the new ride. Good Luck and hook up that 300 shot

Thanks..the nitrous is all hooked up and just needs the bottle filled...there will be no 300 shots in my future that I can see...can't afford that much new underwear...
..... get teh VW tires off the front they are not the best option
I kept looking at those front-tires, and couldn't figure-out what I didn't like about them, but you nailed it dead-on:
I think Mickey Thompson makes a 26" x 7.5" that fits on a 3.5"/4" wheel, made exclusively for cars over 3000 pounds, if you don't want to go to a true 'front-runner' type tire.
