NJ Corvette Challenge 4/12
I am curious as to how everyone did in their two trial runs as I did not get to watch much. Am I the only one who thought it was a joke that they cancelled the rest of both sessions? I drove home with my top off the whole way which is about a 40 min drive. It is GORGOUS out! I wonder if it was an economical decision as they didn't want to fire up the dryer, because I just can't see why they cancelled it so soon. I would have thought they would have waited a little longer. It was sunny out before I even left. Oh well. Does anyone know if I have to bring the SAME car back on the 26th or can I bring my other car, as it BETTER be done by then I think I am done with 13 second passes as it just isn't the same, but it sure is easy and a lot less things to do. I hope everyone had a good time and a safe trip home.

The track has a radar system that was tracking a large storm that was heading towards the track. The track really would need to protect all of there electrical equipment. It was a safe call, unfortunately the weather has only been overcast since then.
I think they made a safe call. Now we will have a double header on the 26th.

Ileft the track about one hour after the call was made. Icaught a lot of rain on 9 south of the track in Lakewood. My times were .5 slower than usual with the 66. Which brings up the question, on the make up day can I run the 96 and enter the 11.5 class? Ron

I was at the track quite a while after we called it. During that time, it went from nice, to rain again, and back to nice. As I was leaving, it had gotten dark again and looked about to rain. This is exactly the reason we called it...multiple bands of heavy rain throughout the day. Unfortunately, there was no way we would have finished, and it would have been a waste of resources to try drying each time it rained. That's why we have radar...might as well use it.

Also I was in SUN all the way home to NY but as Nick Goldman said it did rain again at the track and would have been a PIA to try and finish it..

Well, in a way, it makes me feel better that it ended up raining again at the track, even though I didn't catch any of it on the way home. I still would like to know if I can race my other car at the makeup date. I would think yes, since we will have to have another set of time trials and then eliminations, so I can't see why not, but does anyone know for sure? Also nice to know that everyone was about .5 sec off of usual since my coupe ran a blistering 13.6.

Great.. Its Donna's birthday on the 26th & I made these extravagant plans for a few couples to go out to dinner that night, + the fact I'm having dental implant surgery the day before..... C'mon....
Thinking................................ ...
That does it, I'm, hereby cancelling her birthday, (she doesn't want to get any older anyway), and screw the implant.. I walked around looking like Bobby Clarke for yrs back in college, I can do it again...!

so im assuming that because we didnt actually have 1st round those of us who showed will not get any points for showing yest? But then again we were done with qualifying and ready to run 1st round so shouldnt we theoretically get a point????

I believe you need to at least stage in the first round to get a point.
