Default News: 2008 National Corvette Challenge Outlaw Class will be 1/8th mile

We have run into an issue with being able to let our Outlaw racers run the full quarter mile all out in the 2008 National Corvette Challenge at Richmond Dragway May 10, 2008. Given the inability to obtain sufficient insurance for our racers, we have decided it would be best for the show to run the cars all out in the 1/8th mile.

It will seem a little odd but I am sure our quickest Corvette drivers will appreciate the extra half track to slow their machines down.

I have personally emailed all of the registered drivers to advise them of the update.

Any questions, visit www.nationalcorvettechallenge.info

That's not a bad thing, it was hard enough to slow down in the 10.00 class

As one of the affected Outlaw racers I wish to thank Edgar, Steve and Bill for their efforts to work with Richmond Dragway to resolve the insurance issue. While many prefer true drag racing on the 1/4 mile, safety comes first. We'll go and make the best of it.

After great heart felt negotiations, MIT level extrapolation, artifice, underwriter wriggling, recalculation and drawing vertical wooden sticks………..we arrived at this

In a nutshell......we flipped a coin
I am sorry we can’t do a ¼…………but, racing is better than not at all
