How about that new NHRA countdown

You see how NHRA is no doing a countdown to 10 and a countdown to 1.
No more having a two race season for the championship. Nice!

My suggestion for next year is make it a countdown to 16 and only allow those 16 to race and then they no longer have to worry about one of the "playoff" drivers having make the filed and they can get rid of the new qualifying thing.

I don't know that it is perfect but I think this deal is better than last year...Connolly won 5 of the last 10 last year and lost the championship when they zeroed out for the last two races...that was a bit much...at least the NHRA realizes turning a 28 event season into a two event season doe not work well...
