Default I cant launch my c5 to save my life...

And it is killing my times...

The absolute best 60' time ive had was 2.189

Here is my slip from that run

r/t .616
60' 2.189
330 5.799
1/8 8.667
mph 86.08
1000 11.086
1/4 13.122
mph 111.65

Does anything from these numbers jump out at anyone?

This is on a 99 with the mods listed in my signature with the stock size tires (michelin polot sport a/s)

Incase you have signatures turned off:

1999 z51
gm hot cam
Dyno tuning

Your MPH of 111 would be a low 12 second run. I am assuming that you have a 6 speed?

Are you spinning your tires when you take off?
A 2.18 would tell me that you are either spinning, Bogging or releasing the clutch slow. I would think that you should be in the area of 1.85 to 1.90 with your mods.

What tire pressure do you have in the rear tires?
You may have too much or not enough air in the tires. I found that 24 to 26 is a safe area on street tires with a mild mod C5.

Everything on your time slip matches your ET - Except the 111.
If you are not spinning your tires and you are shifting at the ideal rpm, You are making a whole lot of power on the top end.

What gears do you have?
I did not see anything in your sig about gears. From looking at your 60 foot numbers, I would think that you have stock gears or what I wrote above.

Ah, I forgot to include all that...

6 speed with stock 3.42 gearing

Ive tried all sorts of air pressures between 23 and 32 (what I drive with every day)

I think I got my best at around 25psi

Anyone have any experience with my tires? I thought I had heard pretty good things about them on here in the main forum

I have used my KUMHO ECSTA ASX at the track. My best 60 foot was 1.90.

I suspect the track is Capitol Raceway and you raced Friday night. If that's correct, then there are two issues to consider.

(1) Capitol sets up the staging line in a manner that requires special care by the driver to avoid getting the tires wet. Can be done; I did it routinely there before I was banned. Just need to swing wide around the water. If you drive thru it, your tires will still be damp when staged. Even if you do a burnout, the distance to the tree is very short and your heated-rears will move thru the damp tracks left by the fronts. That harms traction.

(2) Friday nights at Capitol are widely attended by drivers new to the track and few on drag radials. The starting line and first 30' of the track are are usually damp. 60' times always suffer on Fridays.

Bottom line, Correct for (1) whenever you go to Capitol and avoid Friday nights if fast times are the goal. Traction there is substantially better on Saturdays, race day.

111 mph is high 12's and not low 12's mph with stick shift.. It would be low 12's if it was an automatic.. Stock Z06's were rated 12.40 @ 116 mph.
C5 and C6 stock clutches suck for launching. I have some experience launching stick cars (got 1.5xx 60' times on slicks and 1.8xx 60' times on 255's street tires when I had the 5-speed in my '68) but I've never gotten better than 1.9xx 60' times with the stock runflat tires with a C5 or C6. Usually I had 60' times in the 2.0 - 2.20 range and sometimes even 2.5's
