It's Here!! 11.50 Index @ E-town!! 10-20-2007
Yes, you read correctly. There will be a 11.50 INDEX RACE at RACEWAY PARK on 10-20-2007 during the second session on this day. There is a Corvette Challenge race on this day for the first session. This is a pilot program for the 2008 season. If we have a good turn out on this day, It will be a go for 2008. I have already spoken to Edgar about running this class for 2008. I am anticipating that we will have a good turn out.
The rules will be the same as The Pro 10.00 Class - Except that this will be a 11.50 Index Class. I have not completed the rules for the class. I should have them completed on Sunday and I will then post them.
If you have any questions, comments or suggestions please send me an E-mail or a PM. My E-mail address is RACING1320@aol.com. I will be the administrator for this class so please direct your questions, comments and any suggestions to me.
I am in the process of trying to have a payout for this race. I will post the results as soon as I receive them.
There is also a possibility that we will have a second 11.50 INDEX RACE on 11-17-2007. This is the same day as the Top 16.
Location: Springfield, NJ Raceway Park & Atco Raceway
This is being run as part of the Corvette Challenge events or a separate 'any make vehicle' type race like the current Index 10.0, 11.0 and 12.0 events?
That's also the same day as the QTP EFI event that I was hoping to race at in my Z28 as basically a warm up for the following week's Index 12.0 event where I will show 'Anonymous 1' how it's done.

This 11.50 Index Class will only be open to Corvettes and it will be part of the Corvette Challenge.
I think that this great that the Corvette Challenge is growing. I feel if the series is growing, Then that there is a huge interest in this type of racing.

I have spoken to a few people about running the class during the CC. We felt it would be in the best interest of having this race during the second session since this is the third to last race of the season and the points are extremely close.
The Index Class will run at the same time as the CC in 2008.
Paul the way it works now with the 10.00 index is you can buy a combo card for $50 instead of buying 2 $30 cards.Or you can buy a index tech card and if you dont qualify you can run brackets instead...

To race in the 11.50 Index Class, You will need to buy a $30.00 Tech card. Since this class will be run during the second session there will be no combo cards because there will be no other Corvette racing at this time.

So if you want to to race both,You have to buy 2 tech cards. One for the CC,1st session and one for the 11.50 class,2nd session correct? In my opinion,It should be open to all makes................Paul

Sorry Paul, This will only be open to Corvettes and 2 tech cards will have to be purchased if you decide to run the CC and the 11.50 Index..
First of all, I would like to thank Rob Farley for volunteering to adminster this addition to the Corvette Challenge family of racing. Welcome.
Just so we are all on the same page here, the 11.50 is a Corvette Challenge addition and will be part of the Corvette Challenge days and times if we go forward with it next year.
The reason this "test" is being done outside of a regular day/time is because we looked at the cars in the top 25-30 who have Top 16 chances for this year and there are several that are in the running that might want to also try index racing. Since the trees are different, we did not want to affect Corvette Challenge chase. Thus we will run this after the regular Corvette Challenge.
I leave you with this, you asked for it and it took a while for us to go forward with it. It took a lot of consideration, time, effort and debate to get to the point where we are so please do support it.
