We were back at Los Angeles County Raceway for our last couple of races before the track closes. We started time trials about 6pm on Saturday, with temps in the 90s and a DA of around 5700 feet.
We only had four of us show up so we decided to have a little shootout to break some points ties. It was fun because we had all won an event this year. Robert Piroumian beat Javier Navarro, and Dave Dowdell beat me. Then Dave beat Robert in a good race. We were at an eighth mile because of dust. Dave had a .081 RT to Robert’s .067, then Dave finished with an 8.706 ET to an 8.70 dial, and Robert ran a 7.281 on his 7.18 dial. Dave was also Closest to Dial and had Best Reaction Time, so he had to take most of the trophies back home with him.
We also went ahead and raced with the Team LACR Summit Series. Dave, Javier and I raced in the Trophy class, and Robert and Dave raced in Pro. Robert and I lost in the first round, but Dave and Javier advanced in trophy class, and Dave made it to the semis in either trophy or pro (I can’t remember). Dave ended up beating Javier in the trophy second round, but Javier gave him a good race.
Our next race is Sunday, July 22 at noon back at LACR.
