Default Stayed together for 3 runs!

Went to Island today for T&T. It was a zoo with Mopar day. Only got 3 runs in 5 hours but made it all the way down the track each time. That's a first this year. (3 trips 3 broken halfshafts, 4 u-joints, 2 trailing arms, one bearing hub,and a spindle in a pear tree)

1st run spun a bit 1.61/60' 11.59@119 missed up shift points
2nd run nice with 1.52/60' (best ever) 11.24@121
3rd spun bad 1.90/60' 11.90 @121
Coolant was 190, since I found out I either have a weak battery or a drain since it wouldn't start in Tech,so I had to let it run alot more. It has been weak all week and one of my trailer tires is shot with only 3000 miles on it. But at least the car is in one peice for E-Town next week.

You should have been there Friday night...There weren't more than 50 cars. By 9 o'clock there were about 20 of us left, we had the whole track to ourselves until 10:30. My buddy made 19 passes, I stopped at 12. Weather was perfect also. Sorry you had a bad day today.

I would say that 1.52 60' should have put the car in the 10,s
Even 121 mph is enough to get their
You can always invest in Denny's drive shafts when you run out of the others only about $600.00 bucks

Rich how stiff is rear?? That didn't sound right.

I'd raise that rear up and make it as hard as you can. let the tires take the shock and see what happens. I sometime thinks that the mistake I made with mine and why I broke so many parts. I was putting the 1/2 shaft past parallel.

RIch,

You need to bring that car over to my place and let me put in a moser 12 bolt like I just did to mine. You would be impressed if you saw the car complete and more impressed if you saw it leaving the line now. ~28" in the air to the 50' mark on a completely bare (unprepped track). Moreover 4 out of 7 runs were 1.421 on the button - the others were only off .00X from that. The car is deadly consistent - and BEST OF ALL I made about 20 passes with the setup so far and not a single thing broke!

Before I was like you - hit or miss whether I would get through the day.

That is no way to race with that on your mind everytime you stage.

You should come over to Beaver Spring on a T&T if you want to get some practice - last time out there there were only 5 cars all day long running.

Good luck.

Jesse I did a few things to help the rear survive for now. We'll see how many runs till a problem.

I have been looking at doing a solid conversion but don't want one to cut the floor up. I'll wait and see if any of the "bolt in" projects ever come thru. I don't mind a little welding, but no sawsalls .

Mac I have the Q1a shocks and set them on 7 rear,1 front.
