I believe the Dallas folks race at the Texas Motorplex in Ennis...this is where the NHRA holds the O'Reilly Spring Nationals every year...as I recall, Ennis is a suburb of Dallas on the southeast side of the city...most agree it is the best track in the country to race on...

There's an 1/8th mile in Denton...I think Kennedale is 1/8th mile these days...was 1000' at one time..years ago was a 1/4. There is the Motorplex in Ennis....straightdown I-45 or 287..it's on 287.

..... when Forum-member Eddie Hill broke the four-second barrier at the 'Plex, then sanctioned by the IHRA, in April of '88, Glendora wouldn't acknowledge it until a few weeks later, and even-then, it was just a short blurb in their house-paper, saying it happened 'at a small-track outside Dallas.....'

Side note.....I was there that day when Eddie hit the 4's. What was really cool is that he spent a long time signing autographs and talking with the fans immediately after he did it. When asked about the waiting press folks...he just grinned and said something to the effect of... * I just ran a 4 sec pass...they'll wait on me..these folks paid to be here!"

Class act!
