Is there really interest in a Corvette only 11.50 index class?

The topic comes up all the time so let's bring it up one more time. Is there truly interest and commitment to have an 11.50 .500 PRO tree heads up class for Corvettes only? I would expect that everyone that says yes is already racing in the E-town 11.0 or 12.0 index We took a poll last year Dr.Ron and I and these are the names we came up with. 1 Dr.Ron both 2 Face both 3 Yo-El In 4 Eric Fischer In 5 chaase both 6 Dave-T both 7 undertaker in 8 RichS In 9 Robz In 10 vetteboy2K in 11 Wicked Weasel In 12 cyclerage23 In 13 2000whitec5 in 14 LS1LT1 in 15 DRIVER456 In 16 jerrymuniz just index if enough races 17 Tony C 11.50 instead of bracket Some of the names on this list now have quicker cars so I would like to know if this is something that you would commit to. Before we get excited....one (not a group) of you has to step up to be coordinator for this. It would require getting sponsorship, promoting the series and writing the articles for the web site and Raceway News on the same weekend we have the race. Please post if you would race this instead of brackets or in addition to brackets

I would run just the Index if we have enough scheduled races in the calender year.

Are you talking about the CC too? If so, I will try Edgar.Thats alot of beatin up on the car .Why not an 11.50 class for all makes of cars.....................Paul

Because they already have an 11.0 and a 12.0 at E-town.

It is okay if you would choose one over the other....this is what i want to know

I was very interested last year but I have since changed my mind (and yet I might still change it again LOL) about modifying my C6 enough to be competitive in the 11.5 range...but I do still wholeheartedly agree with/believe in adding that class.
It would allow the Corvette owner that hates the thought of installing a roll bar yet who's also modified their car to run in the 11s a great place to compete heads up among other Corvettes.
And of course the stock C6 Z06s (ie: Dr Ron, Ranger etc.) and the bolt on C5 Z06s were practically built for a class like this.

Edgar you know I’m all for giving the racers what they want but you must be careful of over saturation.

Plus a handful of other guys we could get.

I also feel this will have no affect on the brackets because the guys above either don't want to run the brackets or would run both. It may even enhance the brackets because some guys may do both that don't really bracket.

Mark (ls1lt1),Bobby(wicked) aren't gonna run so I don't see enough interest in the 11.50 plus you'll have the rollbar issue.
Just my opinion. I'll ask around about other cars interested and sponsorship as well as a coordinator if you think this may work.

I would consider the 11.5 if thats all we could get. It going to be hard to slow it down after the other work is done but I'll give a go. I think there are enough guys its just time, and finding a sponsor for the series. I think Edgar has enough on his plate, is anybody willing to step up and help Edgar out managing this class " if " it were to happen?

El, you would have to slow your car down too much. Wait til the fall when your running 10.70's. Take some weight out, your car is a beast and you'll get to run it all out.

Name the guys who would run the 11.50 index.
Not enough cars and we don't want to pull guys out of brackets.
Plus in the 11.0 you'll still have an advantage over the stick guys.
