I just got word that my former car qualified so far ahead of everyone else that a driver from Japan protested and asked the race coordinators to check the timing equipment So they stopped qualifying! I won't say how much quicker she ran until I'm sure it WASN'T equipment error because I couldn't believe it myself!
Supposedly, they stripped the car to bare bones and lost a lot of weight. But they were worried about traction on the airport strips so they put 120 kilos of sand in the back for better traction. That's 264 lbs for you non-metric folk On one of the qualifiers they decided to remove the weight and the car ripped off an incredible pass.
