I took some pictures on Friday, the EXCITING day for qualifying, along with some videos. I couldn't get as close as I normally do, within 5 feet of the start line , but I got some nice ones. Here are a few.

Nice shots, as usual.

That red and black mid-year is beautiful. Do you know whose car that is and what class it ran (S/ST, S/Stock)?

Looking at the full-size picture it says "Ralph Porpora" on the window and "SS" on the windshield so I would assume Super Stock. It really caught my eye as well.

Checked results in NHRA site. He qualified 13th at 9.1, -1.07 under. Got paired up with Anthony Fetch in the 3rd rnd to end his day. Ant was 28 on the tree and dead on w/a 7 .... Ol'Ralph was way red

At least one of us got to stand 5 feet away from the starting line the entire weekend ...too bad I couldn't bring my camera!

Default Ralph Porpora

Ralph also runs a kick ass A/S Camaro. Unfortunately at a National Event you cant run faster than 1.15 under or the NHRA "looks at your combination" for further factoring. Ralph has a fast car. It was orginally owned by Rodger Brogdon, a Comp/Pro stock racer.

Default Etown National Event

It looks like you didnt take pix of Dave Thomas's bad ass, 69 L88 SS/BA or John Armstrongs SS/AA L88. The next time you get a chance go check out Larry Jewells cool 67 big block SS/DA, really nice piece.
