You could let Chris (Insanity) drive it! That should have you covered..

Otherwise the weight should be bolted to the frame...

You mean a bowling ball in the cargo net would be a bad idea?

You are talking about a lot of weight. You want to make sure you put in the right places. I had to add two hundred pounds to my car to run in orlando is was no easy task. There are other ways to slow your car down.

I had to slow my car down last summer to run the 12 sec index in the MSD True Street.

Since I have multiple sets of wheels and tires I went with the heaviest set of wheels I had.

Then I short shifted at lower RPMS.
I went to the track and experimented with different shift points the weekends before the event.
Which was easy as all I did was change the pills in my shift lite.
Make sure to note what shift points give what results.

Just went to my log book. What worked best was short shifting by a few hundred rpm's.
(The shift lite makes it consistant) AND holding the rpm's at the high end.
As soon as I hit 5000 I held it there through the traps.
I made notes in my log book of runs where I held it at 5000, 5500, and 6000.
This will then make it easier to figure out what you need to run at when the time comes.
Very consistant!

My two cents. and good luck.

Bro-why don't you just drop the shift points till the car just breaks into the 9's?

I know. I locked up the PCM years ago & had to get new PCM and new LS1 edit cable. Since then I've been scared to do any tuning.

Maybe I'll just put some shims under the gas pedal if needed on certain days?

I put 500 lbs of tools and stuff in the back of mine before I had the roll bar to keep me in the 12's.

OK.
So now I'm confused. (which is an easy thing to do these days)

Just to clarify (again). Changing my shift points is a manual thing not programmed in. my trans is a T-400. Just keep my nose in the tach.

Just trying to help by sharing my experiences in slowing my car down to run an index consistantly.

By the way..I won the 12 sec class at MSD True Street this summer at Joliet/RT 66.

My three run average was 12.013

The car can run low 10's.

I'd bet that you didn't run the spray too which also helps to slow down

Yeah, you are right on that.

But, still it runs low 11's n/a.

The trick was to slow it down to a dailed in number, which takes some practice, which I guess is my point.
