I have never been in one or owned one but I would think if I were to get vehicle sleep in and tow ot races I might go with a motor home insted. It seems to me like a motor home would be more common place and have the added use of being used a motor home for family vacations where as the totohome seems to be more in its place at a race track.
I do get the impression from looks that a totorhome would tow bigger heavier trailers though.

well we already have a 40' gooseneck trailer, and with my 93 under construction we will have two cars before '08 the toter just makes more sense. We can build one cheaper than a deisel pusher motorhome, it already fits the trailer we have, and it will tow a bigger/stacker trailer in the future. It will eliminate all of the hotel expenses and we'll get an extra hour of sleep on race weekends
Ask major he has a nice one for his racing group. I would agree with redgar the motor home approach seems to be a more flexible solution, you can have a real family adventure in one of those, we rented one 4 years ago to go to Disneyworld, after two tickets in South carolina for speeding it would of been cheaper flying, but I was doing 87 in a 70....

that may be true, however............my 61 year old dad is divorced, I'm 29 and single, our family adventure IS going to the track. We have no reason to torture a regular motorhome by pulling a stacker trailer with it and ruining the resale. A class 8 truck/toter is not even breaking a sweat with a 40' stacker and two cars

dually cost ~$600 per month, plus an averge of 4 nights a month (averaged over all 12 months) in a hotel room @ $75 a night (conservative estimate)= $900
cost of toterhome, financed for 20 years= $700 a month
and that doesn't count the food difference when you can go shopping at Sam's or Costco instead of having to eat out.
the toter will get 7-8mpg the dually gets 11 pulling. So you wil lose some back there. However with 140 gallons of diesel we won't have to stop very often
See now that you mention single that changes everything, yes the best solution for you is the stacker. Paul Major has a stacker and its pretty cool. looks like you are really into racing. Good luck and have a happy holiday!!!
Chad those are some good estimates and there are couple other things that I considered when considering a motorhome route.
Tolls, more axles than a dually, more cost
Water and other items that you now have to pay for to maintain that rolling home.
Storage of the home and trailer if it does not fit on your property
Maintenance of a rolling home has got to be harder to do oneself (not that I do much) than on a dually
The dually would serve the purpose basic transportation which would mean you need to buy/own/maintain basic transportation vehicle if you don't have one..the toter won't do well as dual purpose.
On the plus side
The rolling home is a second home the interest should be tax deductible
Fatigue should be less on the drives and at that track making the trip more enjoyable.
I have seen motorhomes priced not much more than the cost of a dually
I did consider one of these very seriously last year and may still go that route but not till my little ladies are done with having me pay for college LOL
Man that thing will sure be sweet. Wife and I are currently in the market for a motorhome. Been looking all over the country (internet) for the last few weeks. We are looking at 30 footers which will allow us to live in it, as well as pull a car trailer behind us. Good luck with your search, hope you get something at a decent price.

Tolls, more axles than a dually, more cost only toll road here is the turnpike in FL and its not that bad, don't travel much of it, although up north I could see the problem
Water and other items that you now have to pay for to maintain that rolling home. Not sure I am following you, I can fill it up with water at the house and it holds enough for a week
Storage of the home and trailer if it does not fit on your property It will fit behind the fence with one foot to spare
Maintenance of a rolling home has got to be harder to do oneself (not that I do much) than on a dually Just a whole lot more oil I would imagine
The dually would serve the purpose basic transportation which would mean you need to buy/own/maintain basic transportation vehicle if you don't have one..the toter won't do well as dual purpose. The only thing we use the dually for now is to pull the trailer, its an 05 with 14k miles on it

No doubt there are a few trade offs but when you have 6 back to back weekends on the road it makes it worth while
Chad...get a hold of Tracy Lewis...he did the motorhome thing for quite a while and went to a toterhome last year...his motorhome was very, very plush and he says he will never go back to a motorhome...he loves the toterhome..he pulls a stacker behind it...he will give you all the pro's and con's...
BTW, last I heard he was selling his motorhome very reasonably if anyone is interested...
I have top of the line 30ft Renegade with top of the line 30ft Stacker. Lots of research kept me away from the Toter and into the full RV. I have complete package for sale. If you are interested let me know. If you want to ask about the pros and cons of each feel free to ask. I have been into it for year and half.
Free places to stay on the road - Walmart and Cracker Barrel
Free places to dump - Flying J and TA Truck stops. They also have free water, but I prefer to fill up at home.
Before I take a trip, I go online and plot out all the above places. I dont plan the whole trip, but I like to know where they are just in case.
That looks like a killer setup. Just remember, with kids, the bigger the motorhome the better. For long trips with kids, I cannot imagine anything better. No more stopping every 100 miles for a bathroom break or food. You have it all with you.
