Default Interest in a drag race specific weather cell phone app?

Hey everyone,

Let's say there was an application you could download to your cell phone that gave you all of the weather related information you could ask for related to drag racing, would you be interested enough to pay a monthly subscription for it? (For arguments sake let's say $3.95)

I am talking pressure, temps, wind speed/direction and potentially a 'racing conditions' indicator.

Given enough interest, there's an opportunity to have it developed.

Andy

It sounds like a great idea.. but where would this weather station be getting its information from... lets say its 90deg and sunny at 3pm then by 7pm its 70 overcast and the corrected alt. drops 400' how close (physically) would the data recorder be to the track ?

Sorry for the delay with this response.

The weather station would get its information by ingesting weather data via satellite directly from the National Weather Service using NOAAport. NOAAport is the mechanism by which the National Weather Service distributes its data to its local offices. Each time a request is made, a server would capture the most current weather data for the specific location requested and return it to the handset. The radar images would be between 5 to 8 minutes old. National Weather Service text products and severe weather alerts are available as soon as they are issued.
