Looking to mess with my lock up for the track. Pete K mentioned that it may be done by hooking a toggle switch to the diagnostic port. Sounds easy enough. Anyone done it? Anyone know how to do it or advise against it?
If you lock it up before you shift, your tranny may not like it unless built strong. If you lock it after you shift, it wont make much of a difference, least it didn't on either on my combos. I guess it's worth a try tho, but i forget which pins need to be connected to lock it.
in 88 in owned a 84 vette, its preformance was not that outstandig.
it ran I beleive 14.84 ,I found an article in either vette or corvette fever that stated if you ran a wire from GR to TCC on the diag port, you should drop your et almost a .10 of a sec. Well i went to Orlando speed world and ran the car 3 runs all about 14.84 to 14.87. I then grounded the TCC (torque converter control) at the diag port (I do not not remember the exact pin locations at this time). I then ran 3 moe runs all runs were a .10 quicker then the first 3 runs. I know this works because at another track I met a guy and his gril freind who were racing each other. She was telling me that she would like to beat him just one time. I told her when she sees the 2nd amber say 1000 and nail the gas i also gave her my ground strap and showed her how to install it. next round she nail him off the line and ran .10 quicked then before and beat him.Oh they were members of a club I belonged, and he
said that I wasn't fair the I helped her beat him. We all had a good time that day.
