Default bracket racing the c6 a6

I am requesting any of you who may have done some bracket racing with the c6 a6 to post your experience. Results with street tires and or drag radails.
Torque Management issues if any. Vehicle reaction time estimates. How much change in your times with hot lap vs cold and what engine temps associated with your reported times? Did you know the density altitude at the time of your run? Thanks for any posts

Hopefully Joe (screen name: 'JELSIS') with his red C6 A6 will pipe in with some info, I know he's competed in the Corvette Challenge and other bracket events with it.

I've only made some time trial passes in my A6 so far, ran a best of 12.4@112.1 bone stock in good air earlier this year.

You might want to get together with shurite44, who is now bracket-racing a C6 A6. Here is shurite44's profile.

If you look at his profile and read the threads he's started, you'll find some of what you're seeking.

Ran my C6 A6 a couple of times in the "bad" air of summer at ETown. Most of the runs were in the 13.3's and had one run 13.06. Engine temps were all on @ 210-215. Hot lapping had no effect on ET's. Car is bone stock, 3LT package, Z51 option the the stickier tires. TM is definitely in the car. Best 60' was 2.08. Car has 4K on the clock so I hope the next time I run the air will be better and I can get into the 12's where this car belongs. On a side note do not overinflate your front tires to decrease rolling resistance(old school). Cars power will be cut because of unsafe condition.

I run 45 psi in the front tires of my C6Z when making passes. This sets a warning message (>42 psi), which is cleared by hitting reset, but has no ill-effect on power.

Also running the car at 210-220 may give consistent results, but a stock ECU/PCM will pull quite a bit of timing at those elevated temps and cost a couple tenths in ET.

I didn't reset the DIC of the message and the car ran 2 seconds slower than previous runs. When I deflated to the correct pressure it ran 13.3's again. I'll have to try resetting the DIC to see if that solves that problem next time out.

Thanks

I have a few runs in this summer bracket racing.

Very consistent stock and after I moded with headers and vararam. Not unusual to hit 2 or 3 dead ons in a night. I use a fairly inexpensive wx instrument to measure temp, baro, hydro and I dail in from that.

I use RPM's on the launch to adjust my RT and I always stage shallow in the same spot.

I run in comp mode.

I run 295/35/18 BFG DR's on widened OEM front C6 wheels.

Stock in very hot humid air I ran a 13.30 at 107 mph I believe.

Fastest so far with mods is 12.46 at 115 mph.

Does not spin, I usually do not do a burn out unless I have to drive through water, although with this colder weather and more power I think I am on the verge of loosing traction. Did not spin with runflats either. My times stayed basically the same with the DR's.

You should definitely see 12s in a month or two, probably even right about now if you run on a night like tonight.

I don't think clearing the DIC would have anything to do with resetting a safe mode condition. Did you turn off your car when you were re-setting your tire pressure. I would say that is the only thing that would effect safe mode. Maybe I missed something in the owner's manual though, would not be the first time I learned something new on the forum.

Not sure really. I did not think an over inflation would cause it to go into safe mode either. Plus if you were in safe mode I think it would add a lot more than 2 seconds to the run.

Sounds like the Corvette gremlin took a ride with you that night.

I run my tires at 24 cold rear, and 38 cold front when I drag race.
