Default So, I overheard that some aren't happy about the Pro 10.0....

.....allowing "faster" guys to participate.

I would LOVE to know what the hell that was supposed to mean? I was under the impression that a 10.0 class was created because there were cars that could run 10.0. So, I got my car dialed to run 10.0. What's the problem? If you have a car that runs 10.0 and I have a car that runs 10.0 what's the damn difference if my car is CAPABLE of running quicker? I'm busting my *** to get this car to run the number and then I have to hear that people are bitching about it? If you're so disappointed with "faster" guys running the class then why don't you whining little girls take up a collection and give us the $30 refund so I don't have to hear this drama for the rest of the season.

I'm trying to support the class and people are bitching about it? What is the matter with you? You think I'm doing this for my own health or for money? It cost me about $400 to race my car every time I'm out. Last time I check the payout to the winner was $100 and runner-up $50. You think I'm in this for the money? Not to mention the wear on the car.

You don't want me to run? Fine. Give me my $30 back and I'll happily stay at home. People should be careful what they say and where.

Not sure who's complaining, but they must not understand

How did you get so many runs in today?
Who said it Paul? I agree with you, what's the difference?? They're just nervous because you're so consistent. Now they know how it feels for us manual tranny guys having to race autos!

3 time shots, 2 rounds of brackets, and a pro tree time shot because I asked nicely

I really don't care. If someone doesn't want me to participate, just say the word and give me my money back and I'll find another class to race on Saturdays. No big deal. What I DON'T want and WON'T stand for is bitching behind my back.

I'd take it as a compliment, if you weren't so good at what you do, no one would care. People will always bitch, use it to motivate yourself. Lot's of people show up to watch cars like yours run. Don't let someone else ruin your day. You spent good money to build your car to win, not sit at home. If these people had the time and/or money they would do the same thing.
Next week we can swap cars so they can bitch at me and you can please everyone by losing with my car

Yeah, besides it is a 10.00 index, not a 10.00-10.99 bracket.

Paul

I'm with you... it makes NO difference if you CAN run 8.40.. & the other car CAN run 9.99 it an = race...

In NHRA I bet 99% of the Super Gas (9.90) cars can run 9.20s.. but they use a throttle stop...

You "CANT even use one.. so I think your 10.0 class is really tougher then NHRA Super Gas 9.90

I know if I had a car that could run 9.95 I be as happy as a Pig in S-H-I-T and all I'd have to worry about it hitting the tree...

Thanks, guys, at least I know I'm not the only one thinking this way.

I guess I'd just like to hear from the guys who thought otherwise. Perhaps there's a valid point that I'm missing?

Paul, why do you even give it a second thought? Who Cares, you are within the rules. So some people complain.....people complain about stuff every day. I wouldn't give a Rat Azz and just go about my business, and let em bitch cause they can't really do anything about it.
Some people just like to complain. I wouldn't worry about it.

While I don't have a problem with you running that class, I did hear other experienced racers talking today(not about you but in general) that it is easier to slow a car down than to make it quicker. But I can tell you from what I've seen at the track, it is not easy sandbagging. I think you are doing a great job at racing and that last pass you made today was pretty damn wild, I watched you dance all the way down the track.

There never was and never has been or never will be, such a thing as sandbagging. So lets move on
