Default carbed c-4 lays down a killer pass

I ran the car at the local T&T on Sunday. Weather was sunny and 75 deg...

car weight with driver 3000lbs

1st run with my dynomax hemi super turbos ( 20" case..nice and quiet)

12.63 @ 106 1.82 60'

2nd run mufflers and pipes off ( i have a quick disconnect...10 min)

12.23 @110 1.80 60'

3rd pass dual stage. leaves on a 100 shot,1 sec out it goes to 200 total

10.26 @127 1.46 60'

I had a problem here. At the 900-1000 ' mark the lexan roof decided to leave the car, soaring as high as the timing lights, so about that time i let off. The roof was unhurt, just needs reglued.

this was with the stock rear rims 26X11.5X16 ET streets @ 12 lbs ( i did a 4" wheelie), front runners, the D-36 with 3.08 gears is still alive and making no noise. I think it has more in it, but i'll just run motor till the end of the season, then i'll bring the second kit in sooner and see what happens. I think it will go 128-129 MPH ?

My friend is going to make the video for me so i can post

What glue do i use to reattach the roof ?

Congrats! Sounds like some awesome runs. As far as gluing the lexan down, I forget the name of it right now but I have bought it from autozone before and its just a plastic epoxy type stuff, it holds very well. I wish I could get my car to run as good as yours. Good runs and keep it up. I'll get down there to race with you later this summer.

Are you talking about the plastic weld stuff that comes in like a syringe ? I used that on my dash and never thought about it?

I might do like hot rod Jim does and put a piece of duct tape across the front of it so no air can get in there to begin with.

Yes, the plastic weld stuff that looks like two syringes that you mix together. There are 3 different levels of strength, get the strongest one and you won't need to worry about it coming off again.

Congrats Mike......

You should send that D36 to the smithsonian for inspection...LOL. Seriously, i think it's the 3.07 gear that are saving you.

btw, what does your exhaust system consist of? 4 tenths seems like a lot to pick up removing an exhaust unless it's very restrictive and heavy

ralph,

Everytime i go to the track i just plan on it breaking, maybe that's why it's doing so well ? I drive there , but it's 6 miles and i have lots of friends there , so getting it trailered home is no problem if i ever need it.
the exhaust is 2.5" dual pipes with a H pipe ( non mandrel bent) and the mufflers are 20" case dynomax hemi super turbos. I'll guess the ex. weighs 75 lbs..it's heavy. I drive the car all the time and just don't want the noise and don't street race so i like it this way. I have 2 band clamps in the front and 1 bolt in each rear by the tire carrier and it's off, really quick and simple.

Thanks Jay,

I wanted a car that's really nice to drive on the street. Mine has 15" of vac at 750 rpm and idles in gear at 550 rpm. It responds very well to spray. The thing doesn't hardly make any HP, but it's a TQ monster. On the dyno with the 150 shot it made 380 RWHP and 600 lbs TQ @ 3200. I never dynoed the 200 shot.

I'm going to put the 700 r-4 back in it with a 2800 converter and see the difference with no other changes next month. I think it'll actually go faster on spray, but we'll see.

Thanks guys

Mike

I would stick with the 350 trans if I were you. The 700R4 will probably slow you down 1 to 2 tenths. Don't sell the 350 until you decide if you like the 700R4. Good luck.

JP,

I won't be selling anything right away..this will be a great comparision. If i decide to go back to my turbo 350 i will have the converter tightened up a little bit first. It's stalling at 3500-3700. I got the original 700 built for free so it's not costing me anything more than a converter.
