Yup, that's the 1/64. Although it is in great condition, I never liked their version of the Firebird. I used to have a 68, but I have been collecting the Johnny Lightnings since they look more like the original.
I have never seen a Redline go for that much. Those bidders have more money than they know what to do with. IMHO.

 I had better dig out my old Hot Wheels - I think I may have that one. Of course the hood is probably gone, and the wheels are bent and missing. I ran 'em hard in my snot nosed years. If only I had known! Over $1k for a car that originally cost less than a buck.

Exactly my point!! I mean, I know everyone has there own opinion and tastes, but since I've become a collector of large diecasts, I think that Hotwheels are just poor quality... especially since JL hit the market. JL really does a great job. The only HW I think are good are the collectible ones that come in the plastic display cases. The market for HW is huge and I'll never understand it. To me they're just smash 'em, crash 'em toys. The wheels are always so unrealistic looking to me, but again, that's just my opinion. My opinion and 50 cents might buy you a newspaper.

I think the reason these are so "collectible and desireable" is that they are 35 years old, and were the original series. I have many of the originals from 1968, but they were driven hard and put away wet!
